I just got a 1920x1200, 24" IPS, the ASUS VS24AH-P, otherwise I may have got this one instead. The only thing that has always kept me from buying the U2412M is the AG coating it has. But at this price I think I would have tried it out.
I just ordered one. I had a $10 Newegg GC, so it ended up $64.99 w/fs. I just ordered a 550 watt of the same make and model sunday from Amazon and it was $79.99. Now I'm not sure what to do with the extra PSU! Ha.
Thanks!
I have been hearing that the C1 south bridge stepping bug is not really that big of a deal. Atleast for me it doesn't sound like very much.. I'm just having a hard time deciding which board I want to get with the 4670k.
So which of those 4 boards would you go with? I try not to go by Manufacturer because each can have good models and bad models. I've been staying away from MSI and sticking to Giga, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried these boards and what they think.
What I guess I look for in a board is...
I have heard good things from people I know that have ASUS laptops, but every manufacturer can have a bad product. That doesn't mean that every thing ASUS makes it bad. It looks like they tried to make a low cost laptop, but cut just a bit too many corners to reach that price point. Which is too...
The reviews on the Best Buy website sound rather concerning. I am looking for something like this for a friend of my Mom's, but with all the problem I'm not sure if I can recommend this laptop.
I was looking into this router a few weeks ago. It seems that version 1 can run DD-WRT, but not version 2. Is there any way to tell which version this is?
I have one of these on the way. It will be my first 2TB drive because up until now all of the failures rates I heard about have made me stay away. I was fine buying Sumsung 1TB F3's for $50-$55 w/shipping. It seems like every drive larger than 1TB has issues with high failure rates. With the...
Well I have found that MacMall will let you place your order and then say they sold out. Then tell you that they can sell you the item, but for an drastically increased price. Bait and switch. I don't even bother with MacMAll anymore. If you get it good for you! I'm just letting everyone know...
Personally I say to get your GPU upgrade first and see if you get acceptable gaming performance for the time-being with that. Then when you do have to upgrade you can get the best performance CPU available. Phenom II x4 may not be the fastest but they still can put up respectable FPS.
It could be just the time of year. I know my rig is running hotter now than it was three months ago. Time to install my 212+ that I've been putting off.
I would stay away from the motherboard that is included in the combo you linked to. Actually I would stay FAR away from any motherboard that is based upon a Nvidia chipset. VERY outdated crap,
I really wish we could get some solid information on what the 900 series boards are going to offer. I am hoping we can get IOMMU support in the whole lineup, including the GX boards.
I'm and AMD guy, but I've been tempted by SB. If BD doesn't beat SB I think I'll get that that Gigabyte board for my first Intel build in many years. That board looks to be really sweet!
LOL. Good one.
@ OP. I'm a fan of the 212+. It really is good and great price. Try it with stock fan, you can always upgrade fan for more cooling or less noise.
I agree!
OP I wouldn't chance using that computer any longer than you have to. Back everything up now, quickly before the magic smoke monster comes to visit. Build a completely new rig w/ monitor. Then send me that dangerous computer and monitor. :whiste:
I posted this in the review of the Puget Systems Obsidian. Why aren't OEMS using power bricks in low power systems? They offer stable, efficient and no noise power for these basic systems.
I would wait for the Socket 2011/sandy-e vs Bulldozer for the type of machine you want. If you just can't wait, 2600k system with all the components you need. Nice case, PSU and data storage system that you can later swap out MB, CPU and RAM of choice.( SandyE or BD)
