Excellent ending. They went out with a bang. The only thing more I would have liked to have seen was a last appearance of Lucy Lawless and a better conclusion to her character. I guess her fate was to simply rot away on old Earth.

Normal citizens cannot get them. Military, law enforcement, and class 3 licensee (usually security firms) are the only people allowed to possess full auto firearms. I'd say that's pretty darn legitimate.

New X-Fi and Audigy drivers

In that case, I might switch back to my X-FI. This Xonar D2 has been great for movies and music, but gaming has been a real disappointment. And to top it off, Asus has taken even longer than Creative to update their drivers. It's taken nearly 6 months in between beta drivers.

Alternative Sound Cards for Gaming Under Vista 64bit?

No, it's not nice. If gaming is for you, then you're better off with the X-FI. I have the "high-end" Xonar D2. There are still issues with several games (including BF2142) and DS3DGX 2.0 is a joke. I keep it turned off most of the time. You should check out the Asus forums. These...

Best nVidia drivers for Vista 64?

Not sure if it's the best, but I haven't had any major issues with 174.74 under Vista 64. 169.44 was pretty good too for that matter as well.

What to do with old CRTs?

I had a bunch of them left over when I upgraded everyone in the family to LCDs. I couldn't give them away even though they still worked perfectly fine. None of my family or friends wanted them. I put them out in front of the house and stuck signs on them "Free monitor - works fine". Still...

Bah. Screw it. Couldn't wait. Went ahead and picked up it's more pricier cousin; the D2 in PCI. Friggin' overpaid for it too, but who cares at this point.

What do I need to run games at 1920x1200

I game at 1920x1200 with my 8800GTX. Been pretty satisfied with the framerate so long as FSAA is disabled. At 1920x1200, it's really not as important anyway. There's really only ONE game (and you know which) that runs like a hog even with 8800GTX (or two).

Anyone try the new Asus Xonar DX yet?

Anyone know if there's a PCI version of the DX? My only other choice is the pricier D2. Unfortunately, this card would not fit in my top PCIe slot (DIMM slots are in the way) and the others are covered up by my 8800GTX.

Does ReadyBoost kill usb keys?

I read an article somewhere that actually ran some tests using readyboost on systems with various memory configs. Unless you've got a system with 1gb or less of memory running Vista, you're likely to not notice any significant difference in performance using Readyboost over one that is not...

Grrr, there are only 3 handguns chambered in 10mm that are legal for sale in CA....

X-Fi or Azalia on Vista?

I'm very happy with my X-FI under Vista. No problems in any of the things I used it for. Mostly gaming, music and movie playback. I don't do audio creation.

It seems to work fine under Vista. Can't imagine why it can't eventually be fixed for WinXP or Win2k.
