Best price I've seen for online retailer:
http://www.buy.com/prod/intel-core-i...230951842.html
This is better price than MC since most of us don't have to pay tax or drive.
I believe if you have Chase CC, they're participating retailer for Chase Ultimate Rewards.
Almost wish I had to...
One thing I never liked about open box items from Newegg - especially the Asus - is that it's just the board and nothing else.. IO shield at minimum would've been good.
If you don't want to deal with the rebates, they also have the G.Skill 8gb set for $5 more:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231342
$24.99+FS.
Yup, ordered a set even though I don't know where I'm gonna use them.. Lol.
Cheapest price I've seen on Ripjaws X series, especially on DDR3-1600 speeds.

$29.99+FS. Can't beat that. Picked up 2 sets even though I have no clue what I'm gonna use them for..
+1. $100k doesn't really get you too far.. Granted I live in one of the most expensive metro areas (live in NJ and work in NYC), entire one of my 2 paychecks is spent on mortgage, utility & real estate taxes.. We're planning to have kids, and I honestly don't know whether I'll be able to...
You guys seriously need to stop this... Lol. Just ordered one to pair it up with i5 650 I had lying around. I guess I'm upgrading my HTPC yet again... :whiste:
Sweet! Just ordered a different combo - XFX PSU & Lian Li A05N case (which I've been thinking about picking up). Total $148 shipped - $30 rebate. :) Can't beat picking up a LL case with PSU for that price.
Thanks again!
Well, I would think it would be a worthwhile upgrades for people looking to do a minor upgrade from a dual to a quad - and most likely be able to keep all the other parts of the system. Not everyone can afford to overhaul their whole system. :)
Was able to get in on this deal - thanks OP! - and my console is expected to arrive today. :)
I've been out of console gaming for good 2~3 years.. lol. How vital is to have hard drive for the unit? I don't foresee using it anything other than profile/game saves on mine. Would the built-in...
I doubt they'll send you one for free - it won't hurt to try.. :)
If not, hit up fleabay. I see a lot of Asus shields being sold albeit being overpriced...
Thanks! I agree - I paid $600 for my 37" Olevia like 2 years ago. It's a great screen imo - despite what people were saying on the net back then. She'll be relocated to my bedroom and hopefully my wife would let me watch sports on the big screen now.. Lol.
They raised the price back on the A550 to $1999.. I jumped on it when it was $1299 with free shipping. It's set to arrive on Thurs. :) It'll be a nice change from my current 37" Olevia. I would've jumped on the A630, but they were only offering local pickup option..
I think you'll be using yours in very similar way I use mine. I have the following setup as my file/media server. It streams movies for my 2 htpc's (livingroom and bedroom) and is a repository for all my data and software. Also serves as my download server (up 24x7).
E7300 (with C1 and...
What do you guys think about this? Found Samsung LN52A550 for $100 more - $1299 with free shipping from Frys. They also have the 52" A630 model (120hz) for $1499 but no shipping available..
Cool, thx again. I ended up ordering 2 - just need to intercept them when they come in before my wife sees them.. Lol. Came out to $106 shipped for both - what it would've costed me to get 1 shipped from the 'egg (I get charged tax from them). :)
This really sealed the deal for me as...
Wow.. I was just looking at these last night. Nice. :)
For those of you that had this case, is it wide enough to install one of those gigantic passive VGA heatsinks like Accelero's?
Thanks Zap!
Hi. Wanted your opinion on a system that I'm building for my little brother. I'm not too familiar with 3D Rendering software and wanted your opinions on which portion I should focus on. I've decided on most of the parts, but little unsure on the video card portion.
The main software to be...
Not sure what your budget is, but you can look into the HP 92xx series of digital senders that does network scanning/email. It has the option to email the scans in pdf and you can also set it up to send the scans to network drives.
If you're also looking for printing functions, have a look...
I agree. Cisco has pretty much stopped putting out support for IPsec VPN clients. As many pointed out, there is no Cisco IPsec VPN client that supports x64 Win-based OS. They were incredibly slow with relaesing a client that worked with MAC's as well. Their concentrators are reaching end of...
I forget which rev/bios I'm running on mine, but I did flash with the latest bios that was available (about a month ago). I used it with 5000+ BE in a SFF case for my wife's system. It gave me option to undervolt it. Currently running it 3ghz (15x200) @1.20v in bios (about 1.25 in the os).
Your best choice would be a board with 750i chipset. Don't bother with 780i unless you're going for tri-sli with 3 gtx/ultra cards since it's exactly same as 680i with a bridge chip for the 3rd pci-e.
Keep in mind that nvidia chipset (other than 790i that uses ddr3) will not oc as well as...
Another vote for 750i. As Blazer said, the 780i is nothing but 680i with a bridge chip, so it retained all the issues that 680i has - vdroop being the biggest one.
I've been lucky with my Abit IN9 Max board as it's been running great for me. I tried Striker II and it posted grand total of...
I think the consensus is 750i board - can't tell you much since I don't have one. :) I'm using Abit IN9 Max 680i on my backup rig- rock stable for me with E6750 @3.2ghz, 4gb pc2-8000 and two 8800gs SLI'd. It seems that 750i is bit more stable than the 680i (again, not coming from experience...
If you're going to buy one, just buy a regular legacy floppy drive - should be able to pick one up for $10~15 shipped. Open up your case and connect it to flash the bios and disconnect and put it away..
I think I had the same Asus board while back... It's running as a HTPC at my little bro's place now.. lol..
I know that it only lists Hard Drives in the bios for boot priority, but there should be another section below it (if I remember correctly) that has a separate Hard Drive section...
Try this LINK. Shows you how to configure an usb stick to be a boot disk. This should work as long as your board has the option to boot off of usb device. Also extract all files necessary to flash the bios onto a folder and copy them onto the usb stick.
Have not tried this personally as I...
Which PSU are you running? I seem to remember there were certain PSU's that had issues powering up systems with 8800GTX's.. I think Enermax Galaxy line was one of them.
Do you have other parts you can test with? I had the same board and I had no problem running it. My config on that...
Yes please! I'm quite indifferent to them (other than the fact that I already bought one.. :P) I looked at several other pumps but it seemed the D5's gave the most performance/$.. By all means, please point me to right direction.
I thought the microres would be too smallfor my loop, but...
