yeah they are not that inefficient power wise, it's just that thay are hitting a hard wall like Ryzen and rx 480 do. Amd pushed their cards to their absolute limits to make them compete with 1070 and 1080. Shove a few Mhz and undervolt a bit and you have a very decent gpu. There are a sweet spot...
Those cards sell like pancakes no matter what lol
people are too afraid not to get one
that beta driver for mining will push speculation high on what will be the final hashrate after drivers goes out of beta + miner optimization over time haha...
hope it's not blurry as hell like most recent games.
Reshade has become mandatory now with all that blur fest. Games are power hogs and don't look good nowadays.
i have to say the first time i saw this thread i did not agree completely with it.
But now i hate so much that open world trend omg. The witcher 3 bored me in a few hours, mass effect andromeda was so repetitive and lost so much appeal...
I'm only doing the main quests now. I just play for the...
i have the 1060 3GB on my laptop, it's a full 1280 pipelines, not cut down like the desktop model.
it's a capable gpu to play games at 1080p on high textures. Not good for ultra textures but i can't tell a difference between high and ultra textures on my 15.6 screen anyway. Maybe on a bigger...
Amazing cpu, will only get better with time for obvious reasons.
computerbase.de is such a good website, testing with undervolting and hyperthreading disabled, the two best ways to stay within TDP and run turbo clocks forever when gaming (laptop gamer here :))
it feels like hyperthreading is overkill for a 8 cores cpu.
i would disable that for gaming. I bet overclocking/power consumption would be better. Thus gaming performance.
Wish they'd release a cheaper 8 cores (8C/8T) ala i5.
6 cores feels meh, kind of half baked.
Someone got carried away here, drawing general conclusions pretty fast for a not so spectacular game haha
Dat r9 280X still kicking tho.
Game running fine on pretty much everything at 1080p after drivers update is what i see.
2GB vram = nay
3GB = yay
Mobile core i5 6300hq 2.8ghz on 4 cores and 8gb ddr4 2133MHz
320.98s
Not that bad i guess ddr4 helps in encoding
Power consumption is ridiculously low. 45W at the wall, knowning that this gaming laptop idles at 21W.
cpu is undervolted at -0.115V in xtu. 43W if i go at -0.130.
GTX 1080 bundle pack : 3dmark professionnal and mining software
Not a single good game out there ? no worry you can still do benchmarks and mining ethereum with your premium gpu
Also if your are among the 1% of weirdos who care about 4K, get some.

a sony convertible with a 28W cpu with skylake GT3e
Man this thing is as fast as my old 45W 750m GT
Total power gaming power consumption is only 40W, 2800+ in 3dmark11
i bet undervolting cpu + egpu with intel...
