well, the wireless router/switch doesn't have an uplink port, and the wired router does, but that defeats the purpose of switching them- i need the antenna in the other room to improve signal strength where i'd use it.
So I think i'd have to buy a crossover cable of 30-40ft. do they make...
that is exactly the kind of information needed. thanks so much! I think i'll be able to do this- the thing that stinks is that i'm going to have to buy a crossover cable that is the length of my longest run.-- oh well!
Hi all. I tried googling and came up with nothing. I am attempting to add a cheap 802.11b wireless router/switch to my setup, but for placement reasons (I want to move the wireless AP to improve reception) I can't use it as my primary router. To start, i just plopped back in my plain old...
I chose to upgrade, but are you sure that we aren't receiving the 4101? it is a much better system, and i thought that was the upgrade offer.
edit -
I searched HP's site and found no information on the 1401 - the numbers go to 12xx, then switch to 41xx -
I am very confident we upgraders...
Daveman UT, did you order or test the kingston ram yet? i've been wondering if it is the memory to get-
and BTW, you guys being contacted by staples regarding the ze4101 upgrade, did you order the ze1201?
Come on, somebody throw me a bone!! if there are people who have gotten their ZE1201 (as in the thread title all you OT 1500T'ers :) ) give us a post! I'm ready to find applicable sodimm deals like the kingston valueram that work in this lappy-
dangit!
there are 2 kansas locations for staples. guess i'm stuck with tax.
Somebody please post when they receive the lappy and test the kingston ram, cause i don't want to eat it....
I'm interested in this too. I don't require an mATX, but i think currently a good choice might be the msi-6526 - it's an 845GL matx, but I have not found out if it has any overclocking options at all.
Has anybody been in the chatroom today? I have been in #cyberwings at chat.webmaster.com (java) and there seems to be people in the room, but nothing being said and no posts regarding moderation. have they changed chatrooms (again?)?
goodness, if you guys can't take the heat, get out of the forum.
I have seen lots of opinions, some taken as fact, some taken as thread crap.
I say let the discussion settle the argument, not calling foul with thread crapping!
A couple years ago, hotmail had this huge security crack that allowed anyone with a browser to read ANY hotmail account, just by knowing their email address. It is one reason why i will never use hotmail.
As for hotmail, I had alot of fun reading my friends mail through the crack which required only a URL.....
and i would love to compare the spam from hotmail to yahoo.
I was using web2pop right after the service change from yahoo, but i gave up because the html encoded mail seemed to frequently come mangled with images missing.
Did anybody else have this prob, and was there a workaround?
I had a problem with poor reception with a sprint pcs phone- and i live in metro KC.
So I called, told them of the hole at my house, and within 4 weeks a tech guy was on my block analyzing the signal, and about a week after that- bingo! full reception, even inside my house (which is not what...
That looks like a pretty good deal to me- lots of the features people want in a consumer box these days, and it has a legal xp license!
I say hot deal.
I have one of these boards from back in the day, and the acpi support is nowhere near the iwill kk266 i also own. if you want acpi functions with your board, i would recommend picking something else.
I have heard mixed things about the revisions of the board. i would have a hard time...
if you wanted to go the other way, and have the user login automatically all the time, would you just "remove password" in the user control panel? I need the comp to remember one username so that it is still capable of logging into network shares.
so in the setup process, it will redo the mbr, or can i get to a command prompt with the win2k disk and just run fdisk?
I'm just worried about losing service pack upgrades if i reinstall.
yugpatel,
so you are saying that if we ordered within the prior rebate, but shipped late then we just send the packing slip with the original order date, and it's all good?
with all of this remote desktop expertise assembled, I have to ask a related question.
Has anyone gotten the remote audio to work? I would love to control my HTPC from the upstairs pc, but when i login to my remote connection it says that there is no audio device. anybody figured out the trick?
I couldnt' get my win2k Cd to boot on my system, so could i use the win98 boot disk to use the fdisk on that? or should i create the 4 floppy win2k boot disks.
I bet it's the latter because of the difference in the boot loader with win2k/xp.
guess i should clarify my above post. what i was asking about was if the rebate window would be extended because of the delays related to the mixing of refurb and retail drives.
so has anybody actually heard about what is going to happen with the rebate? one CSR said maybe, another no. I don't wanna call a million times, so has anything different been discovered?
