I'm really interested in this too. I'm eyeing the Asus 6850 on amazon (~$187, currently out of stock). Asus claims it can overclock to 1180mhz (which is most likely way higher than most people can achieve) but it would be nice to see how far people can push these cards.

I discovered some more information that might help.
I plugged a non usb mouse & keyboard (I forget what they're called) and they work just fine. So I've been able to look around my computer much easier now. (With just the USB equipment it was almost impossible)

Typo there. The memtest result had no errors after three passes.
I have hardly any programs installed, mostly just drivers I downloaded. Its a fresh install. During the install process my mouse was jumpy.
My primary mouse is a Razer, but swapping to a simple mouse didn't seem to change anything.

I'm planning of taking advantage of Fry's $79.99 deal for an I3 530.
Microcenter has a deal on the MSI P55-CD53 for $79.99 AR. Would this board be well suited for the I3? I did some searching on compatibility of the I3 with P55 MBs, and I was a little bit confused on how well they work...
My newspaper (SJ merc) has the I3 540 for the same price, $79.99 in the Fry's ad. On the Fry's website its 116.99. I might bring the paper with me and pick a 540 tomorrow.
