Here's an idea: Let the middle east pump their oil wells dry, and in a couple hundred years, when they have no more oil, we can start using our own oil. The middle east will have no more power.

AMD doesn't have turbo mode on any of their processors except Phenom II X6. How long did you test for? A couple hours or more is necessary to ensure stability.
Also try using K10STAT as another undervolter. Maybe RMClock adjusts offset instead of voltage for each power state.

Tells you all you need to know.
Go to Task Manager, Click on the Performance Tab, and then Click on Resource Monitor.
On your Resource Monitor, go to the "Disk" tab. You can check there what is hogging your hard drive, whether it be Firefox or something else.
To answer your question, I think that it is true (at least for AMD). I've heard of people with 4 RAM Sticks only able to raise their Northbridge by 500 Mhz or so.
82 Degrees is WAY not normal. The maximum temperature specified by AMD is 62 Degrees Celsius, and it's not recommended to be above 55 for stability. Chances are, you just killed your processor.
See if you can start a RMA with AMD.
AMD's bottom quad core is closer than you think;

Besides, it's retailing for only $83 at the egg.
Not sure how much the Q6600 was at its lowest price though.
I use HWmonitor since it can monitor my other temps too. Keep in mind that the core temps for the initial Thuban batch are 10 Degrees lower than the CPU temp.
