Good movies for Halloween ?

From looking at your avatar, I'm surprised you didn't say Eraserhead. That's a good movie to watch alone, in the dark, with the volume up loud. It's just creepy, and awesome.

I could have set it up to do save states - but the design was based around getting it as close as possible to what an original NES would do. So no save states. Haha, I wish I could have made a way to blow into the cartridge. But if the system locks up, just do what you would do on the original...

Well, I tested the system for weeks with Prime95 to see what temps would do with full load, even though realistically it never works that much when playing the games. After I had fitted nylon spacers on the feet, my CPU temps would never go above 55 degrees C on full load. But in normal...

Timescape: Best TNG episode ever!

My vote would be for Darmok, but Best of Both Worlds also rocked. All Good Things was a really good finisher for the series, and the ending sums up Roddenberry's philosophy quite well. I'm just glad no one said Parallels yet - ugh...what a terrible and badly written episode.

Hyperspin is the front-end (aka, the menu system). So I didn't "make" it per say, but I did have to build the menu database, have the images for the box art, wheel, and even themes match the database, have the videos match the database, make my own intro video to the menu system, and also shell...

Yeah - there are probably 800 games for the NES total, but I did not include the Zapper games, Rob the Robot games, and European and Japanese games. And it saved me from finding another 100 images and videos for those games. ;)

Hrm, that's an interesting idea. But that would mean making some SATA to NES cart pin adapter...which I wouldn't even know where to begin on how to do that. I'm sure it's not impossible though. Thanks all for the kudos. BTW, I just found out that it's going to be the NES's 25th year...

I could put in wireless controllers, but to me that ruins the retro look. So I just stay with any regular Nintendo controller - I prefer the NES MAX. ;)

The front-end is a community driven effort, but I don't have any part in its actual development - I mainly just support the project and those who need help in the forums. Check out hyperspin-fe.com to see it. There are many other front-ends out there, but this is probably my favorite...

Anandtech Member Case Gallery!

Turned a non-working NES into a NES PC gaming rig. Here are some videos that documented the progress. The part 1 video's quality is very bad and was filmed with an old Olympus Stylus 760 camera, and it had very little production/editing done to it. Part 2 and part 3 more than make up for that...

Well this one wouldn't even power on with a working power adapter, so wasn't sure what the deal with it was. So yeah, it definately didn't work. So instead of getting rid of the case, decided to mod it.
