The whole issue is pretty weird, the probabilities don't match up. Not many people are complaining. On MacRumors, there are about 50 of them or so (with the one guy who claims that IR is inevitable on all LG displays with no proof whatsoever). That would fit if about of of hundred units was...

New ThinkPad T-Series Available.

The 440p looks interesting. You can get quadcore one with dedicated GPU and matte FHD IPS for about $1500. That's not bad, with the sales and black fridays and other stuff you over-the-ocean people have.

This. You really should use VCS. You could do script for deployment, but I don't think you can do that easily on windows. It's trivial on Linux or Mac OS, though.

Those are at similar pricepoints? If that's the case, get the Infinity, it is better in everything than others. Here, it is way more expensive though. The VAIO and Zenbook have way better display than MBA or T440, but the T440 is probably the only one of them that you can upgrade. However...

Apple users, which browser do you use?

FF. On my 2006 macbook it's faster than chrome, and I have anti-google paranoia. Sometimes I use safari, because some google docs documents require login with google account when accessed with firefox, but don't require it when accessed with safari.

How can I send 1.47 GB worth of photo's with a minimum amount of hassle?

Dropbox could work. They give 2GB for free, an at least on the upload side, they should take car of the integrity and connection reestabilithing and stuff, that you're going to need because of slow upload.

Not necessarily. You can do J2EE development on two-core, because build more often than not are not parallel, but you can't really do it with 4 GB RAM, because the application won't fit into memory with the IDE. So you could do it on 8 GB ultrabook. It is still better served with workstation...

Heh. I have the 2007 one (with GMA930 or 950 or whatever) and youtube is terrible. The best way to watch it without the laptop burning hole into my chest is using youtube-dl and VLC. Interestingly, VLC uses way less resources than MPlayer or Quicktime. No contest with flash video, of course...
