My pixel has had terrible battery life with Pie (from 4-5 hours screen on, down to 2-3 hours). I was thinking of doing a factory reset but then thought why not just put Oreo back on.
I assume there's not an OTA way to do that?
I've not looked at flashing the pixel before. How easy it it to do?
Both Google Photos and Google Play Music/Spotify will keep your photos and music in sync. I had my Pixel's battery die 2 weeks ago. The shop gave me a refurb unit to replace it. Google photos and Spotify meant I'd not lost anything.
As for the root question, while my phone was off for repair I...
This is the closest I've found, but it wasn't this app. This also seems to have disappeared from the play store and was only for media playback.

Still looking. I think it might have been...
Looking for a bit of help. A few years ago I remember I had an app/tasker thing/xposed module (really can't remember) that would let you tap the phone to do things. Not necessarily tap the screen, but the phone case itself, kind of like knocking on the table. I guess it used the accelerometer to...
I've done that with both the speaker and my headphones. Its not a huge problem but its annoying to repair when I want to use them. This is trying to solve a very 1st world problem.
Niggling problem - When my laptop wakes from sleep it tries to connect to any bluetooth devices its been paired with. Really good for my bluetooth mouse. Really rubbish when my bluetooth speaker is connected to something else and playing audio.
Is there any way to set reconnecting behaviour per...
I have an old laptop that is living out its days as a plex server. My current laptop's AV keeps blocking port scans from the old laptop. Is there any way to find out what on the old laptop is generating them?
Is this a networking question - happy to move it/have it moved if not.
I've got the mini 2 and ios11 really killed it as far as smoothness goes, regardless of tab retention etc. Not sure if its the SOC speed or the amount of RAM but I'd go for the mini 4.
I've not updated to the 4 as there's never really been a good time to justify it over the 2 and am holding out...
Tell me about it. I had a Windows phone for a bit and liked it but ultimately went for my current pixel. I've got to find a way soon to move dad off his trusty Windows phone but that's another battle.
I made a few suggestions to my wife. She doesn't like the S8 (its too tall and the wrong shape). She wants to stick with samsung for familiarity if possible.
I saw a second hand S7 (non edge) in pink she likes, but I'd like to buy new if we can find one. I had a J5 as a loaner replacement for...
My wife is after a new phone, but money is a bit tight at the moment (new baby and one of us off work). She currently has an S5 that's on its last legs.
I'm starting to do a bit of research but wondered what you all thought about the differences between a brand new midrange phone (£250-400) as...
I kind of think at this point when the review drops i'll read the intro and skip to the conclusion.
Unless Anandtech find something that everyone else has missed for the last few months.
You mean something like this https://griffintechnology.com/us/powerdock-5-device-charger
We looked at getting similar ones for our school but the bigger, pro ones were a couple of thousand £ each.
The best way to think about it is (though this is getting less and less true all the time): iOS doens't do as much as android but what it does do, it tends to do better. If you are happy with what your phone can do, you'll be happy with an iphone. If you want to do something that Apple says no...
My scenario:
I am playing a game or listening to music using my laptops speakers. I connect a bluetooth speaker or headphones. Existing sound keeps coming from the speakers. New sound comes over bluetooth. I need to relaunch whatever program was playing in order to move the audio over to...
Just seen the iphoneX in Vietnam in shops for $1850 (42 million VND). Given that its not officially released here the grey market is making a pretty big mark up. Sell 1 and thats enough for the flight over to sell more.
Also, I think the ratio is nearer 1:2 (ios:android) if you look at number of active devices rather than devices shipped. Given that Apple are the only makers of ios devices and you're right, its an Apple subforum rather than an ios one, it would make a lot more sense to have an LG forum for...
I'm happy with the smaller capacity battery. I'm looking for something that will give my phone an extra 2-3 hour boost rather than fully charge the phone.
I'd seen things like this but that still 1cm thick and isn't going to fit in my wallet. Before I got the larger power brick I had one similar to this. The problem I had with this size device is that its too big to take everywhere with you without thinking about it, but only good for one charge...
Does anybody have/know if you can get a USB battery pack that is:
Credit card sized
5mm or less thickness
USB-C connection (with port or connector attached)
smallish capacity 0.75-1.5Ah
It doesn't need to fully charge my phone but just provide a top up, and will be limited by overall volume...
I always thought the Motorola deal fell apart due to pressure from other manufacturers, and that Google used it as a way to gain some leverage over the same manufacturers too.
This always bugs me. I understand the grammatical reasons behind it but it always sounds stupid to me. Kind of like a posh caveman speaking...Do you want cup of tea? I have spoon for sugar.
So... Regardless of Apple's best intentions, I read iPhoneX and hear an 'Ecks' rather than a 10.
Apologies for the repeated ecks, but I wanted to be clear.... Unlike some large technology companies.
What about you all?
PiP for maps is actually pretty damn cool. Skype used to do this too but a recent update killed it so maybe they're in the process of moving to use the official PiP api's for it.
