Thanks man! Points well taken...
By the way, I just reversed the fan orientation and it did seem to improve overall temps! But I will try to observe further as it is already past 12 midnight here at my end and it's raining so ambient is kinda lower than usual.
By the way, will a tower air cooler be a better option? I mean, front fan intakes, central fans via the CPU cooler for more airflow inside the case, and finally a 140mm exhaust that should pull hot air out of the case...
A friend of mine suggested this also but I am a bit concerned with dust build up...
My plan is to replace it with Zalman 9900DF (coz' it matches my rig's theme  ) and then have a 140mm exhaust back... I believe 9900DF's performance is pretty decent already. I think I could fit D14...
I slightly modded my case, removed the side panel vents and replaced it instead with an acrylic sheet (plexi-glass) and had put some LED strip. I might just be the only one that is a fan of LED lights nowadays but I just like it (kinda personal taste) for some reason.
As a result, my temps...
Ok, great! But pardon my ignorance though, in what instances that AVX extensions will be used? Are there any particular software or application used for this or by this?
Would like to join this thread as I am also pondering on Haswell but before I do, I'd also like to get the "facts" about Haswell temps for real.
At stock clocks/voltage only, is Haswell generally hotter than Ivy? I am particularly interested with 4670K vs. 3570K idle and load temps...
Thanks!
Seems aligned...
and it does fit perfectly...
it just doesn't get detected (most likely due to lack of power)... 2.5" drives should have no problem I guess...
Kinda curios, can I use the USB 3.0 (USM) cable of Seagate external HDD and plug a regular internal HDD on to it? Will it fit? Will it work? Will it not damage the HDD or USM cable?
Appreciate your inputs.
Thanks!
Just like you, I too wanted to go ITX but the only thing holding me back is that I have a PCIe soundcard as I can't bear typical on-board Realteks (ALC8xx series) really...
However, I am starting to see the light at the other end of the tunnel............. ASUS ROG Impact... ;)
Will wait and...
If the price is right for this little monster, this will blow away the competition. My rough estimate for this should be around 300 USD (hopefully). But in my side of the world, I will expect this to be somewhere around 350 to 380 USD. o_O
Ok, I came across a local forum site and it was brought up about the best 2.0 or 2.1 midrange speaker setup.
It was suggested there to use Swans M50W and this is the first time I've heard about it but it seriously got my attention when I started doing some further research about it.
Now, I...
1805 is a wicked BIOS... and yes, that version will make your iGPU always enabled for some reason along with few more unpredictable issues...
i reverted to my trusted 1406, and all of my issues with 1805 went away...
probably will not update my BIOS till i encounter obvious BIOS related...
I use AI Suite because of the USB boost feature... or is this just gimmick?
But anyhow, I always shutdown my machine after use... should I worry about memory leak?
When I was using 1805, I had the following issues:
- iGPU always enabled (don't want it of course since I have a discrete card)
- Still difficult to get into BIOS setup (hit or miss sometimes)
- Settings randomly reverts to default
Now, when I got a P8Z77-M Pro, it already has 1805 on it and...
Go for Gigabyte... Asus boards recently have crappy BIOS (I have tried P8Z77-V and P8Z77-M Pro and they both share BIOS issues)... Honestly, I wish I have gone Gigabyte instead...
Just checked it today... and I am particularly interested in the first 2 fixes...
P8Z77-M PRO BIOS 1908
1.Fixed Power On By RTC function failed.
2.Fixed F8 function is abnormal under fastboot
3.Support new CPUs. Please refer to our website at:
Please share your experiences (if anyone...
Yeah, thought of this too... Based on reviews, there are quite a few extra screws but only 4 are the long ones and nobody specifically mentioned anything about provisioning for a 2nd fan.
But anyhow, I'll see what I can do but most likely I will take the sample to a local hardware store...
Can this be done in the 2013 edition H60?
I was thinking of getting 2 SP120's later and set it up as push/pull... Can it still accommodate another fan? I mean, would it need additional accessory or mounting mechanism/screw to make it accommodate another fan?
I just noticed it recently that the iGPU is still enabled and is still eating a chunk of my system memory even if I had my discrete GPU set on Primary display (PCIe) in the BIOS.
2 weeks ago I removed my discrete GPU (660Ti) and sold it... used iGPU since then and today I got a new discrete...
I'm not sure how that actually sounds but it seems too way off the charts. I use DHT but with Asus Xonar Xense though but probably you can try something like the one below.
Play with the one in "yellow" box if you want punchy bass... you should go negative (down), else, you will have a...
I was excited with Virtu feature as well before... but when I actually tried it, I didn't really find any reason to use it.
Two main reasons why I think Virtu might be useful... but later I realize that it has little to no effect or benefit at all. At least from a desktop user's perspective...
^^ I was with 1606 too before updating to the latest one (1805)... so yes, it's a good thing! :)
I've read from other site somewhere that 1504 was the best one so far... so if you're not having issues with 1606 (which I didn't have any and I partially regret why I updated), don't update (just...
I haven't tried any Asrock mobo yet but I currently use P8Z77-V... it's a good mobo, just avoid updating your BIOS... I wish I didn't update mine... I don't know if it's Asus in general or the Z77 lineup, but the BIOS for P8Z77-V seems buggy and no details are being provided what has been...
Ok... Will check that one out...
I did, however, actually try to flash it back (via USB) to the previous version I had before updating but it said that it was an obsolete version something (can't recall the exact wordings)...
I have had similar issues like this and I thought it was just my USB keyboard... It's like a hit or miss thing when everytime you go into the BIOS... i even thought if just getting a PS/2 keyboard as I've read the link, that too is not working...
I have 1805 BIOS now and it is still kind of...
I agree... they should not change something all of a sudden without giving proper instructions or notice.
Oh well, at least it didn't brick my motherboard... I am thinking now of ditching this and go for Gigabyte instead since I am also pondering on going for a micro ATX setup (G1 Sniper M is...
I'll be damned....
I downloaded the latest BIOS again along with some previous versions and then I compared the file contents. Notice that the latest version only has 1 file inside it... when I updated my BIOS to the latest version, I renamed it just like the way I did it on previous...
