my smp really slow!!! why?

why my smp running so slow? i dunno wat is the standard score other similar system can get, but using xflask converting at dvd 720x480 resolution decode 5.1 48khz sound i onli get around 20fps, even a single athlon xp will surpass the score...damn running photoshop 6 also seems no different...

PIII 1G SMP VP6 win2k cpu utilization at 54%

My smp system seems to be slow when converting dvd to mpeg4(divx), i saw the online benchmark even an athlon 800mhz will give 18fps encoding but why is my piii smp onli do 12 fps? is there anything wrong with my configuration or the smp is not working? potatoesann

bad cpu or not;" that is the question "

u need a spare vga to try on it, even when u remove the vga card and boot it will give u the same beep as it will treated the case as no vga card detected or vga fail, u need another vga card to try on it, or u can try to reinssert firmly the card potatoesann

PIII 1G SMP VP6 win2k cpu utilization at 54%

i setup a smp system piii 1ghzx2 + 256ram + abit vp6 the system run win2k pro with dual processor enabled.. i have a question, i run seti and the cpu utilzation nv go above 60% for both processor but in my previous celeron 1ghz the cpu is always 100% is there a bottleneck in my system or tat...

notebook ram upgrade

i have a presario 1200 12XL512 PIII laptop which have initial standard 64mb ram, i install 128mb of ram previously and now i have another 256mb, i wan to remove the 64mb and install the 256mb but i cannot find it anywhere from the back cover...i need to remove it...anyone help...thanks

how to rewrite celeron 2 l2 latency setting...

Intel have inform that the coppermine and celeron II both have the same latency setting for L2 cache...so conclude that the cripple perfomance of celeron 2 is not because of the latency setting, but becoz of the size and the mapping technique of 4 way... potatoesann

Need something between 100MHZ and 112MHZ FSB

yes u make sure the heatsink to attached properly on the cpu...and better cooling might help really...rub the heat compound off and reseat the heatsink...this help for mine c2 566 @ 953mhz... at the beginning, i can't run the beast at 953 mhz stable at 1.9v(thought is almost max for the cpu), i...

i have try to use the h-hoda wcpul2 program to rewrite the l2 latency settings for my celeron 2 566...but when testing other settings other then the default 2 it will tell me is failed....i dunno what is the problem....anyone know??? and anyone know is there other program to help me to do so...

Whitch speakers are better Klipsch or DTT 3500??

get a altec lansing acs45.1 as front and a acs 22 as real, it will be almost perfect for usage...i have them, the quality can rival my mid - hifi at home, at a 6mx4m room...damn loud...45.1 give bass and some mid rage, 22 give high and mid rage...for me is perfect match...:) and the things more...

my poor celermine....

well i have a 566 at 951mhz using 1.95 v and no crash, just make sure u have excellent cooling to cool the monster down...it will be fine...dun worry about the voltage if u have fine temperature and stable after long hour of full load...like mine for 48hrs++ of seti@home...i have a selfmade dual...

What's the max voltage on a Celery 2-600?

i am running at 1.95v...566@951mhz with dual heatsink and dual fan, third casing fan blow onto them...just make sure u have sufficient cooling...and if ur system is stable at that voltage...u are ok....but i think running the cII at 2.0 and above is a bit too risky....for me the 1.95 make me...

yes...true...the cpu is ok if it is stable enough....even u put more voltage(not to say use 3.2v for CII, :) )overclock it at higher speed...as long as it is stable...go ahead potatoesann

question for >25% overclockers

i have my cII 566 run at 952 using 1.95v...boot to window at 1003, temperature full load at 47-49(in hot country Malaysia), idle at 35c-37c(w2k), dual heatsink, three fan...run perfect stable, although i dunno how long the cpu will last at this extreme voltage...if can last for more than one and...

Celeron 566@952 1.95v...47-49 celcius fullload..safe??

i have my celeron 566 to run at 952 at 1.95v vcore...with self made double heatsink, dual fan and one big case fan blow at the them...and manage to maintain a temperature at 47-49c full load...37c at idle under win2k...no crash run seti@home for days... issit safe to keep it there?? it can boot...

that's one way to run coppermine(not changing CPU's voltage ID!)...is modifying the sloket...justr apply the way of modify... i mean the VID pin...that is!

i found the way myself and did some experiment to find the way...just use anyway to connect the VID pin to VSS , connect a wire using soldering tools(hard to remove, so not recommended).for me i use a short soldering iron(2.5mm) and stick with tape...then stick at the back of the bord to create...

at last i found a way to increase fix vcore on socket370 mobo...like my DFI CA61... previously i fail to oc my cII to 850mhz on the board as the vcore is auto detected at 1.50v... after have some look at the celeron datasheet...i found that there is way to manually change the voltage...

adjusting core voltage

i have a celeron 2 566 on dfi ca61 board...now it run stable at 1.5v @ 708mhz...(quake 3 for 3 hours and seti@home for 3 days under win2k rebooted to install new sound card...:) ) it boot into window at 850mhz 1.5v but crash when i play 3d games... board do not provide any voltage...
