Old background flashes at startup and shutdown?

in win 98, you could fix this by clicking cancel on the login box, it would stilll let you log in. then you could remove the old background.

Windows Customize folder?

in windows 2000, this was done with the "Customize this Folder Wizard", the filename was ieshwiz.exe. see if this file is present in XP or copy over the one from 2000 and see if it works.

A way to configure "search files/folders" program so it starts with "folders", not "search"

is it set to "always dial my default connection" under internet options, connections tab? make sure the connection you want to dial is set as the default. make sure your homepage is not set to be blank.

burned an iso image

are you using a cracked version of cdrwin? most cracked versions do not work, they burn the cd but then it shows up as being blank. try using fireburner.
