Nice, when I don't have a leg to stand on I usually fall-back to strawmans myself. It's a good way to get someone to insult you so you can storm out of an argument before you get completely cornered. OT: Yes people are spoiled with SSD's, and with no moving parts, reliability is already good...

Choosing what to place on SSD

For most enthusiasts, 10 FPS is a marginal increase when I'm already rocking a solid frames count. But 5-7 seconds off every load screen in HL2 or having the load screens breeze by in SC2 is more than marginal for most enthusiasts.

Dropping screwdriver on mobo, plugged 1394 cable into USB header

I'm pretty sure just plugging it in without power didnt hurt anything. The screwdriver part is kinda wildcard. If you're really unlucky it might have done some damage, but I would say probably not.

I would be mostly using the TIVO features of rewind pause, and fastforward live TV, I don't think I would need to record alot of episodes of any TV shows. Mainly: If there's a football game on, I would like to be able to watch it 30mins-1hour after kickoff, and then be able to quickly jump...

Yea I've heard Seagate has been a little iffy lately. But I would probably get an SSD and do most of the heavy lifting on that drive, like a 128gig and then put all my games and OS on it. Pretty tempting! It would really leave me alot of room for a sweet GPU and SSD which are the things i want...

Heroes of Newerth $10 this weekend

it's really a game where you have to get over a learning curve before you really get to reap the rewards. LoL is much easier to pick up, but the skill ceiling on that game is much lower than HoN. That said, no one really get's close to those skill ceilings anyway, unless your playing on a...

Heroes of Newerth $10 this weekend

Great game, I've definitely gotten my $30 out of it. Make sure you keep your mouse close to the ignore button, there are plenty of jerks. The learning curve can be a little steep too, but if you listen to the nicer people in your games they'll let you know when you're doing something dumb.

Where have you read that these are bad PSUs? I'm curious why certain components (especially ones that have 4 egg+ averages on newegg), get so much fire from posters on anandtech. Not defending the part, just wondering if theres another source of reviews or feedback I should be checking before...

4 minute boot times with SSD under Win7 and MSi P67A-GD65 MB

If you are heart broken and do not want to try to figure out your raid situation, you could just copy the files you want to back-up onto your other HDD whenever you want to back them up, manually. It just won't be an exact duplicate drive like you would see in a raid set-up, it won't be as fast...

Looking at a gaming PC... from the ground up

I agree with you on everything except as a registered SSD homer, I must advocate the SSD as it makes load times much shorter for games, and that makes for a much more fluid experience. If you can budget $100 for an 80 gig, you can squeeze 3-4 games onto the drive, and the loads times just cruise by.
