Nothing excessive, just sometimes download so freewares from Download.net like 3dMark for benching or testing. Most of the time just uploading photos to photobucket and my brother use the most bandwidth for EA origins and gaming.

Questions for FIOS users

My brother plays online game at night time also noticed some lag spikes assumed that caused by the throttling bandwidth? If upgrading speed doesn't solve the problem I am not sure I want to pay extra $30 dollars/month for the 50/25 plan.

Ivy Bridge Versus Sandy Bridge: Temperature Analysis

I am using the i5-2500K overclock to 4.2ghz as for temperature: Room Temp: roughly 26-27C TIM: Shin Etsu X23-7783D (if I remember correctly) Fans: Gentle Typhoon A-14 (3) + Gentle Tyhpoon A-15 (2) The noise is fairly quiet, but definitely not silent I can tell you that.

It doesn't leak, but the pump does have little vibration I put the cloth there just to prevent the pump's vibration scratch the case over time. Now that you mention it, I should put a mousepad there is more aesthetic.

Core i7 3770K tested + My analysis

The most interesting about the Ivy Bridge article is the guide was able to hit 5GHZ with 1.17V.

Anyone use closed loop watercooling on their CPU? ie Corsair H50

One of the thing people don't mention is the build quality of the heatsink, heatsink like CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ get the job done however the build quality is quite bad. What I mean is if you apply extra pressure on the fins they will bend, something like Noctua or Thermalright on the hand...

Cinebench won't use more than 32 threads?

I believed it is capped out at 32 thread when I saw a 64 thread pc only using 50% processing power. Here is the video that I was referring to.

My GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3 setting multiplier to 35...

I believed the Turbo kick in to give you the extra multiplier, but I could be wrong.

2500k with Gigabyte GA-68x.. What some good voltages to use to try to pull ~4.5GHz?

I recently pick up similar combo. Here what I suggested: CPU PLL: 1.75V Vcore: start around 1.34-1.38v Multi-step Load Line: try level 4 if still fails, try level 5.

Need Suggestion

Yes, I had it at DIMM slot 1 & 3 before the cleaning it boot fine. A week past I got the RMA ram, but still no go the same problem. Only can boot from DIMM slot 1 or 2 with 1 stick, slot 3 & 4 no go.

Hyper Threading improved performances on applications that takes advantage of them, render, encoding, server, and etc.. will show improvement.

The i5 2500K should be fined with the softwares you are using unless render faster makes that much different to you. My Q9650 @4.0ghz is good enough to render with premiere pro 5.5, I suggest you get at least 8gb ram running those softwares.

Can higher fan speed raise heat?

The more voltage input the more heat the fan itself will generate to speed up the motor, however if the temperature at 60% is reaching to the limit moving up 100% generate no improvement but more heat. So, it does make sense air cooling always have a limit that is just one of the scenario.

Worth it corsair to seasonic?

Air VS Water...

The thing about water cooling is that cooling the gpu will be the best due to the heat and noisy fan. Air cooling vs. water cooling in term of cooling potential WC going to win due to additional rad can be added in the future, air cooling is really limited to the heatsink's potential + fans...

But then you shouldn't be worried, since gaming and most other applications won't tax that much on the cpu. Also noticed that your voltage need quite a bump to reach 4.1ghz and have fun with the WC kit going to last you for a while.

Is my power supply dying?

As you see on the HWmonitor the +12V rail reads at 12.74V and I check on the BIOS it is 12.62V, it is way out of specification. I was wonder if my psu is dying, when I ran the linx I heard zz sounds from the case. My psu is the Corsair HX620 been running since Sep, 2007. Thanks guy my first...
