Who use a Pentium 4 in his main pc?

used to run a p4 2.4C @ 2.95Ghz from 2003 march 2007...then i upgraded to an opteron 170 system, and now that is gone in favor of a c2q q9450 system.

Can the iPhone work without any SIM card?

i'd get an iphone personally...it doesnt have the side rocker keys and the two speakers at the bottom. plus you can actually use the phone overseas or use a prepaid card and voila! phone + ipod = awesomeness. but if you need storage, get the touch.

So I see Macbooks are really super competitive in price...

you pay for what you get for...the macbook has 6 pin firewire, gigabit ethernet, wireless N, bluetooth 2.1, 1" thin, etc.

welcome to the forums! you are right...intel chipsets do NOT support SLI, but they do support crossfire... i have a similar setup and boat that you are in...im waiting for intel to release their P45 chipset motherboards (which should be here in a few days/weeks). that is a good choice for...

BS, its an evga card, so it has the 90 day step-up. dont worry, i plan to take full advantage of it in case they are wholeheartedly better.

niiice...definitely gonna run to my frys (in like 5 minutes actually) and pick it up. cant beat it for $250 AR...lowest i see an evga 9800GTX online is like $300.

HS / Fan for Socket 939 Althon64 4000

thermalright XP-90 with any 80/92mm fan of your choice. worked well for my opteron 170 @ 2.5Ghz. edit: the golden orb 2 is a good choice as well, but for me, it was a pain to install compared to the XP90.

P45 mobo

sold my opteron 170 system and waiting for asus to release their P45 boards. well i think they are out...just not in retail channels as yet, apart from ZZF which has a few P45 boards listed as "notify me". cant wait to have the asus p5q deluxe in my hands...its the ONLY thing i need to...

If a game offers you the choice of easy, normal , hard which do you usually choose?

easy... prince of persia warrior within comes to mind...that game is near IMPOSSIBLE to beat on normal/hard. same with f-zero GX.

Using a MAC Mini for home theater

it might do 720p, but it definitely wont do 1080p because the video card sucks...pretty sure of that one. if you were just going to watch dvds on it, then it would be fine. but if you plan on watching high-def stuff most of the time, i'd stick with either a self-built htpc or at least...

ASUS Striker II Extreme or ASUS P5E3 PREMIUM

nope, the intel board (P5E3) doesnt support sli, but it does support crossfire. if you are going to use sli, get the striker 2 extreme. if not, then the P5E3 is your board.

Will adding a sound card improve FPS?

at most it'll be like 2-3fps, possibly up to 5fps. using a creative x-fi would get a bit better fps, but then you'd have to deal with the creative drivers bloat (i think). do as btry said and try it out first. you wont know until you see for yourself! :)

what is the "memory leak" in firefox

a memory leak is just when you have firefox and a few tabs open, yet the whole program is using over 200-300MB.

Is anyone here still running a 6600GT/ 7800GT??

my 7900GT (just a tad bit faster than a 7800GT) - can run most modern games (crysis, supreme commander, cod4) on medium, sometimes with some settings on high. older games like fear, cod2, source stuff run just dandy on it with high details and 1920x1200. my 6600GT handled the older games fine...

its a completely dead socket...and lots of consumers/upgraders were still on socket 754. to be blunt, i actually sold an opteron 170 system yesterday on FS/FT...

What is your best guess on the next Macbook Pro's specs?

9600GTm/8700GTm montevina (mobo, c2d with 1066FSB, etc) complete case redesign up to 320GB 7200RPM HD blu-ray burner, if not reader esata 1680x1050 15" (LED backlit of course) ddr2/ddr3 (i havent seen any laptop ddr3, so who knows) hdmi

no way! dont raise your vcore to 1.5v...thats basically instant death/suicide. honestly, i wouldn't even go above 1.4vcore either... also, its nice to see that you got a high FSB from ddr2-800 sticks..hehe

How do I duplicate only part of an application?

The ~ denotes the Users home folder. It looks like you want to store the the application in the Applications folder. Therefore your command should be: ln -fs /Applications/WOW/Data /Applications/World\ of\ Warcraft/Data Don't forget the "\ " to denote spaces. Give that a shot.
