Thanks Usefulone. Checking into the many articles you located. Someone else referred me to the problem possibly stemming from Roxio. I downloaded the patches for that and still no go. Anyway, I will be going through every possibilty listed in the WinXp Knowlege Base link you provided.

My options are F1 and Tab. F1 allows me into the bios settings but there is no option to select advanced power management. Tab brings me to a screen listing the pc's specs. It does list advanced power settings and something else but this is merely a spec listing screen nothing can be changed...

Already selected. still no go. And i just realized I'd already tried Igo Byte's suggestion earlier with no success. Unfortunately, none of its working. The pc immediately reboots after shutdown. It goes dark for a second and reboots. I'm going to try Sloguns suggestion now. Any others are...

Don't know which motherboard, how do I locate? I don't think the powerswitch is stuck because the system powers down and the reboots after a second. HELP!!

everman: I've had the pc for over a year now and it just started happening last night. I think I can shut it down by pushing the power button, but definitely not via: start: Turn off computer. Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

Cholley, winipcfg is entered under START, RUN and then I enter winipcfg -- Correct? DaiShan, he says he's tried your other suggestions with no success, with the exception of calling the ISP. Both computers cannot connect at the same time because he is not using a router but a spliter...

My friends modem will only dial out during certain hours and he cannot figure out why. Would it have anything to do with the TCP/IP Config? Any theories/suggestions are appreciated.

Ink cartridge Color????

I thought the other cartridge was dry-firing, so I replaced it. I have never used an ink refill kit. I think the cartridge may be faulty also and I will probably have to replace it. Thanks again

altonb1: going to try cleaning the print heads, although I'm still perplexed at how replacing a black cartridge with another black cartridge would yeild anything other than black. Cartridge is in the correct location as the color cartridge is still loaded alongside it. BTW I've made 50+ copies...

Ink cartridge Color????

Hey Guys, just installed a new cartridge in my HP930c and the hue has a slight magenta effect to it. It's the same number cartridge, but I can't figure out why its not solid black as before. (unless they degraded the cartridge quality) Any thoughts?
