My vote goes against GSkill. I've got an 8GB (4 x 2) kit in my system that won't even run 100mhz over the rated specs without intolerable instability, even with tons of voltage. Very disappointed in it.
Thinkpad X220. Get it with the IPS screen. Best laptop I've ever owned. The X230 keyboard is supposed to be surprisingly good but if you want the classic Thinkpad caps try to find an X220.
There's a warranty for a reason. The EVGA 680 I bought has 3 year parts & labor, which is close to the maximum amount of time I would keep the hardware anyway.
This is my first time buying an nVidia card, and I am upgrading from a 5850. I had a $100 Newegg GC and after the reviews hit this morning I just couldn't resist. I just bought the EVGA 680 and was wondering if any other seasoned nVidia vets could chime in if this is a good choice or not. My...
Personally like (probably) everyone here I spend a lot of time at my computer: work, gaming, entertainment... I love talking and reading about hardware but IMO the 2 most important parts of your computer are screen and keyboard. For screen it's simply a no-brainer.. an S-IPS or H-IPS will look...
I'm still rockin' an OG Moto Droid. 'Course it's rooted running Pete's BB (2.3.7 GPA 19) at 1.0ghz, but I'm definitely in the market for a new phone now that my contract is almost up. I had no idea you could just swap out phones on a carrier, figured they would "notice" or something and shut...
This is something I never understood. Usually people get phones for >$200 with subsidized pricing but I always hear people talking about swapping to a new one, selling one, etc. How do people do this? On a 2 yr contact how can you just "sell" your phone and "buy" a new one? I know you can...
I have a 24-inch 1920x1200 ZR24W monitor. I never notice a difference with AA on until it hits 8x+, except the massive framerate loss. AF however I max on everything.
Hey bacstar, I've been looking at purchasing the x120e and was wondering if you could answer some questions for me.
How well-built does it feel?
Is the keyboard pretty good? Touchpad?
Screen alright?
Can the E-350 play 1080p MKVs (maybe ~14Mbps bitrate max)?
Does it get loud under...
Please listen to me. 3 years ago I spent $2500 on a top-of-the-line gaming notebook from Sager. It's a waste of money. Don't do it. Build a great gaming PC for $1000 and get a light laptop with a decent PC. Learn about some hardware and get the best of all worlds.
