I'm glad that Corsair didn't meet their deadline for the K70 with blue/brown switches or I would've purchased it. I got this instead and am damn happy!
Great keyboard. PBT keycaps, lasered and infill legends, steel plating so no flexing.
They missed their deadline by a month and a half (said it was coming out in July). Sorry, already bought a keyboard while waiting around. They missed out on business.
Wow... 1150 and 1155 use the same holes! SAME EXACT holes, ANY cooler that worked for 1155 WILL 100% work with 1150 socket. It isn't just the CM hyper 212.
Why would you have to worry about anything "under" the adaptive curve. Stress testing doesn't test the lower frequencies/voltages, it'll blast all the way up anyway.
The only good thing about testing on adaptive voltage settings is to account for the extra voltage influx OVER your manual...
I turned off adaptive and put it on manual when doing tests. After reaching stability with manual, I switch back to adaptive for the C states.
Ambient has also been ~32-37C this past week. No AC :(
Um.... are we reading the same charts? I see 3770k overclocked at 4.8ghz idle = 115Watts load = 244Watts, FX8350 at 4.8ghz idle = 160Watts load = 364Watts... Isn't that 50% more power?
I don't get this??? You're gonna keep using the 5870 with the A10... Why the hell do you even care about the iGPU? Doesn't that defeat the point you were trying to make about Haswell and its inferior iGPU compared to AMD's solution if you're just going to use your discrete card anyway?
NUSNA_Moebius' list is good. To answer your previous question on how to go about picking parts...
You start off by picking the CPU you want, then you pick the mobo that is compatible with that CPU (socket type). Then you pick appropriate ram for the motherboard and cpu (dual channel, triple...
DING DING DING! This is what I would do too if it were for non-gaming. Don't care too much about whether the chassis is metal or not, as long as it is well built. Important parts are decent amount of ram and the SSD. Sandy Bridge too since he wants to watch movies and it'll help with battery...
I dunno about washing things with water even after letting it dry. Depending on your water or whether it is de ionized, it may leave minerals that can conduct electricity.
E6600 here built in summer of 2006. Almost 5 years since my last upgrade. Since then, I've only added 2gb more ram for a total of 4gb and changed out video cards.
