I'm trying to fix my girlfriends internet problem and can't figure out what im doing wrong. She has the following equipment Cable Modem,Linksys SPA2102, and D-Link DIR-655 router.
I hooked it up as follows.... cable modem -> LINKSYS VOIP -> DIR-655
had two problems with that setup.... first...
I understand the difference between the two, but I am wondering why the 2500 beats the 2500k
Not a big difference but I didn't expect to see any difference or if there was I expected it to be the other way around.
Thank you for the quick reply. No I don't have any applications that would use 2G Ethernet but wondering if this is something I should look into having to future-proof myself (However, that question doesn't matter anymore since you are correct I accidentally looked at the evo not the pro.
The...
Asus P867 Pro and Gigabyte GA-P67-Ud4
Three things that I'm wondering about are :
1) The Asus has a 2G Ethernet while the Gigabyte has a 1G Ethernet. Will this make a different when using wireless internet?
2) The Asus has a 16 for Power Phase while the Gigabyte has a 12. Will this make a...
Not a big deal at all, but just wondered whether or not I had to as I have never had the issue before. Then again I usually bought the motherboard and then bought the ram after so I used the QVL. But since the Sandy Bridge MB's are not out yet I purchased the ram first. Either I have no problem...
purchased G. Skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL
and while reading the customer comments I noticed someone complaining about the voltage on the ram being incorrect. This was the response posted by G.Skill.
"We are sorry to hear you are having issues with this memory. The memory specification is above...
Its not a question of what I can afford.... but rather am I paying for something I will never use. For example I can afford to buy 20 burgers at McDonalds but I would never eat half of that so why bother.
I know that it may be overkill... but I have the itch and some x-mas money to blow. I was going to get an i5 but decided to wait for an Sandybridge. I'm currently using an E8400 and 4Gb of DDR2.
Thanks guys. I will not be overclocking to answer your question. I think im going to go with the top option, but two more question i have before i pull the trigger.
1) 7-7-7-21 is not an important thing to consider right?
2) This ram will DEFINITELY work with the sandybridge right?
3) Any...
that did help....
this G.SKILL F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL Ripjaws 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1333 CL9-9-9-24 240PIN DIMM Memory is the exact set I was thinking of purchasing. So you made my decision easier :-)
i'm guessing the 1600 isn't worth paying more for?
These are the 3 deals i was debating between...
It "can" be faster but it depends more on the type of drive as opposed to the size of drive. Best thing to do is decide how much space you want to have and then decide between the different drives at that size.
In other words say you want 500GB. Look at the different 500GB's on your market and...
in my opinion no "size" is best. It just depends how much room you will be needing. If you don't plan on storing videos/music then the 320gb would be fine. Personally i use a 2tb, but I also "need" the room.
Im doing a Sandybridge build and need some Ram to use with it.
The most demanding things I do is:
Games: WOW/Starcraft 2
Programs: A little bit of Adobe Photoshop
Internet: Downloading
I've decided (after reading a lot of old posts) that I want to go G. Skill
The question I have is which is...
Thanks everyone for the imput!
Im using the 2TB as a music/video/pictures drive and the SSD is booting my operating system/playing WOW. I have a 250GB drive which is being used to install programs. So I ended up buying the WD 2TB and the OCZ Vertex. Someone tried to talk me into getting a...
lol ok thank you.... I think I'm going to get the 2tb WD and the OCZ SSD. Should I wait for my new board and sandybridge processor to use these or can I just use them on my existing computer?
Also when i plug the SSD in for the first time do i have to reinstall my OS on it or can I move it from...
I will probably never exceed 1TB on a second hard drive.... is it better to go sata3 and get this
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 6GB/S 7200RPM 64MB Cache 3.5IN Dual Proc Hard Drive OEM for 80.00
as opposed to the 2TB sata2?

well id be looking to spend ~200 U.S. on the processor.... ~150 U.S. on the motherboard and ~120 U.S. on 8GB of ram will I be able to do this build?
I already have ATI Radeon 5700 (which i think is sufficient for my gaming (Starcraft 2 is the most demanding game I play)
lmao thanks again for help for this raised a few more questions lol.. Which G. Skill 1333 should i go for?
option 1 54.00 G.SKILL F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH Ripjaws PC3-10666 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1333 CL7-7-7-21 Core i5 1.5V Memory Kit
option 2 60.00 G.SKILL F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM Ripjaws PC3-12800 4GB 2X2GB...
