Expect the latter. The 8 core bd is positioned to compete with the 2600K. As I've said numberous times. With its 130w TDP it wont even come close to sandy bridge in the overall overclocking department
You've never overclocked an 125w processor before have you. Ask any 930 or 950 guy how hard it is to keep down temps on air after 4.2ghz on bloomfield.
There's no way in hell the 590 is going to be a thousand dollars.. NO WAY. Alittle birdie told me 799.00 will be the MSRP from Nvidia so expect it on newegg for 829.00
That's not fair edrick. Bulldozer can't compete core for core so they have to throw 8 cores out there to compete with Intel. Amd needs to release a 10 core processor to beat the 2600K

I'm not sure but the more i read about BD the less and less i care about it. All i seem to read is that the more cores the better and amd's with more cores will be better then 4 cores of intel. Give me single threaded performance anyday over more cores.

What if they reversed the fan on the card to pull rather then push? It would draw air from outside the case for one core but meh.. The other core would get hot air as well
Look at the TDP of the top of the line 8 core BD. You actually think it's going to be clocked low compared to the 2600K? I'm willing to bet the 8130 will be clocked at 3.4ghz or higher
I totally agree IDC but if you look at the TDP it gives us a window into possible clock speeds with the 125W TDP 8 core being clocked in the 3.4-3.6ghz range. As i said in another thread if these slides are correct and it takes 8 cores to beat the 4 cores of sandy bridge then this is a huge FAIL...
If that graph is accurate then I was correct with my assumption that bulldozer doesn't even come.close to the IPC of sandy bridge. Talk about FAIL amd. 8 cores to beat 4? Pathetic
