Why is it when I set my core voltage @ 1.675 - 1.70 (via jumpers) the bios
and asus pc probe report the core voltage to be 1.744 - 1.76 volts?
I'm currently running stable and cool (31-34c idle w/ GOrb) but I'd like to
run @ 850 or even 900...

Ok I don't know about those Abit boards. But it sounds like you need to up your core voltage. Since the defualt voltage for the Duron is like 1.60volts, I was also having problems getting windows to boot.

I'm happy with my A7V, I'm running a Duron 600 @ 800 (850-900 when i get a new cooler).
Problems:
When I try to update my bios from 1002 to 1004a I get windows protection erros when booting up, so I'm leaving the bios at 1002 for now until I can figure out whts wrong.
Also the BOOT UP TIME...
