can't return to the reseller as i've already cut out the UPC code (as most card has these days has a MIR)
maybe i'll buy them from amazon next time.
When I read the comments on newegg there's always someone with bad gpu.
i hate how they are so volatile.
I hope I don't have to RMA...
Just wondering. Got a defective card on arrival. I understand it's tough for them because some people brick their card by overzealous OCing.
edit: free return shipping
How the heck does my card produce artifacts? I did'nt even OC it.
I'm pretty satisfied with the power of my card but it keeps putting out artifacts
everytime I run anything 3D. It glitches the hell out of my game
:|
Google'd it and found this site. Maybe I have a case of bad VRAM?
I meant to say a different *program*
But yeah, I happen to be running Afterburner too (I want to make sure my fan is running and I want to monitor the temp)
I'm thinking of going to 10.10 catalyst and see what happens.
I have read reviews stating that the FrozrII (not for GTX560) is slightly worse or same as the reference cooler. Won't know if it better till it's tested.
Yeah I'm looking forward to GW2 as well and Diablo 3. I doubt that they would require more than the Radeon HD 5xxxx / Nvidia 4xx to max out.
I hope they do because it would give me a reason to upgrade :D
I really liked the Radeon 6xxx series. I wish I opted for that instead of the 5xxxx.
Just wondering. I'm sure Crysis 2 will push the envelope as did the original, but if you don't play FPS, is there anything out there that would make you upgrade your Radeon 5xxx or Nvidia 4xx?
I too had problems with my XFX HD5850 unfortunately. Ever since I installed mine the system rebooted itself 3-4 times. Windows error report says that it was due to the graphic card. I left my card at stock settings of 725MHz 1000Mhz memory.
When I play games the graphics can get unstable at...
yeah, that sounds good. honestly, gpu these days are so huge it's a feat putting them into your computer. I had so much trouble jamming it and I had a normal sized case. got bruised all over my hand trying to maneuver the card.
I'd love to have a GPU enclosure with power supply and cooling...
How are these compare to the M9?
I got the M9 last night and it was incredible. I had so much pleasure listening to the M9 I went to look for a better pair and bought a RE0.
Honestly, MEElectronics make high quality earphones at SUPER bargain price. I have total confidence in their product atm.
beats by dr.dre.... yup great value for your money there. *cough* ripoff *cough*
You're saying MEElectronics overpriced and you recommend beats by dr.dre. WHOA.
edit: I'm sorry, you didn't actually recommend beats.
If we take away the space constraints think they can make GPU that are infinitely more powerful and low cost?
What if they make a motherboard/case that leaves a PCIE slot that can be slide in from outside the case? Then we can have GPU as big as we want and it'll be 'external' but still...
Mine seemed to work. It reboot my computer while running Unigine Heaven benchmark. Maybe it's because I OC the core to 750 and memory to 1100. I thought that was a pretty low OC. Since I've already cut out the UPC I can only get it repaired from xfx right?
Kinda wish I went for the HD 6850...
Is it a bad idea to have 3 brands of RAM in your PC I don't know a thing about it's timings or voltage.
Looking at these in addition to the Patriot ones i ordered earlier.
Avexir AVD3U13330902G-1SW Standard Series 2GB 240-pin PC3-10600 DDR3 1333mhz 9-9-9-24 DIMM
Shoot, just realized that I...
My system runs fine with just 4GB. It used to be adding ram makes your computer runs alot faster. We would pay 100 for 8MB or something.
Anyways I bought it. If I can't use it it'll just be $12. I'll probably be usable.
I have 2x2GB on my system and it has 2 empty slots.
Can I add these Patriot PSD32G13332 PC10600 2GB DDR3 Desktop Memory Upgrade - 1333MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, Non-ECC, CL9, 1x2048MB for my HP Pavilion P6610F ?
Thanks in advanced
Thought about something like this for the forum since questions like this get asked every day. It would be nice if we have a thread that gives recommendation. Whatcha think?
Something like this..
Budget | Recommended Card

I've never used a cooler before of any kind.
I saw some deals on CPU coolers and I wonder if I need it.
My HP, My Antec 650W PSU. My XFX Radeon 5850.
The ones I saw was
XIGMATEK HDT-S963 92mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
and
XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775...
$93 GTX 460 is tough to beat.
But if I had to pay 150 I'd consider a HD 6850/6870. It's a low wattage, high performance card. Moreover, it's the current generation ATI card whereas the 460 is last generation since they are doing 5xx now. So it'll probably be supported longer.
Mwave has MSI Radeon HD 6850 1GB PCI Express Video Card for $143 + free shipping after a $30 mail-in rebate and joining mclub for free
( i couldn't go on mwave atm, but you can try)
Dimension 8.78" x 4.6" x 1.5"
PassMark - G3D Mark
GeForce 8800 GT 944
Radeon HD 6850 2,663
Thanks for the pic. I couldn't find the back picture anywhere.
I don't have a HDMI cable that's why :D
Gonna get one from Amazon. AmazonBasic HDMI $7.99
How about this?
It's a 21.5 in Widescreen IPS monitor. $199 free shipping
They had the 23" for the same price last week. But has since expired. If you're doing photo editing I think you should definitely get an IPS panel.
TN vs IPS
For this TV. It says it has 1 PC input but I'm not sure if it's DVI or VGA. Couldn't find pictures of it's input on google.
What's the best way to connect your computer to the TV?
Lol that's it? I guess it's negligible if it's only $1.
Actually I kinda figured out. Here in NY, it's about USD 0.20 per kilowatt.
200W x 3 hours x 30 days = ~ USD 3.60 (assuming 0.20 per kW)
Yeah, GTX 460 SLI is less costly since you already have one and more powerful
(extra ~8fps even if you unlock your 6950 to 6970)
One thing to note tho, the 6950(6970) uses 22W Idle 157W Avg Peak 185W
(according to http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/HIS/Radeon_HD_6970/27.html )
The GTX 460...
what resolution are you playing?
1080p on a 50" = ?
There's a very hot deal on another thread for the HD6950 for 289 shipped no rebate to handle from Amazon.
With 2GB of VRAM, it should be better if you're playing at over 1920 resolution.

That's good for everyone, but I'm just worried for ATI/NVIDIA and their partners that the already small PC enthusiast market would be even smaller to sustain growth and profitability.
Without them, we'll all be using Intel GMA or worse. Maybe it's just me being paranoid. I'd just recently...

I read that Windows 7 requires less memory to run than vista. I opened my system the other day and I noticed it has 2 empty memory slots that I can fill with 2x2GB.
Would my system benefit more...
Yeah but even at this level, Sandy Bridge will drive a good percentage of casual gamer away from purchasing a GPU.
The only reason I went searching for a GPU is I couldn't run most games unless I set it to bare minimum.
With this kind of performance, PC builders (Dell, HP etc) doesn't...
