Buying from a local store, the only available freesync monitors here are Asus, Benq or AOC. Keep in mind that I'm looking for a 144hz/QHD monitor. Budget is around 500-600$ thanks

Only one Acer 27" model is available (Acer K272HLbid) and it does not have Freesync.

Thanks for the help, but as I stated - I can not get the Acer monitor here. As for the IPS Asus problems, I guess it's individual - There is nothing I hate more than replacing the same model because of a problem. Furthermore, I mostly play FPS games and I think for those TN would be superior.

I'm not living in U.S and the Acer FX270HU is not being sold here :\ Was originally trying to decide between the XL2730Z and MG279Q (IPS), but I saw that it has a lot of issues, with a lot of people reporting they had to RMA. Anyone here owns one of the models?

Hello, I bought an R9 290 not long ago and looking for a compatible 144hz Freesync monitor. Both of these models got great reviews, and are now priced relatively the same (do not confuse the mg278q TN with the 279q IPS). Can anyone help me choose? :confused:

Does Freesync/GSync eliminate the need of a higher refresh rate monitor?

I saw this list a couple days ago: http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/list-of-freesync-adaptive-sync-compatible-monitors.html and noticed that currently the 4K displays (at least the freesync ones) do not support a 144hz refresh rate comparing to some of the WQHD models. I currently own a 120hz...

I am seeing a lot of Gsync monitors being released lately, any news regarding ATI's Freesync? I'm planning on upgrading to R9 380/370 when they are released, but that kinda depends whether ATI answer to Nvidia's GSYNC is months away, or years away...

The original plan was 400$ for GTX 460 SLI, so yeah...can do 500$. 700 was too much though (2 X 570...it's not even 700, it's more, the GTX 570 is ridicoulsly expensive here)

As I said on my first post, "here", I don't live at the U.S... assuming I do everything you recomeneded, I save about 200$...the problem is a 570 cost around 400$ here. I will go with the 1333mhz CL9 Ripjaws, I read good reviews about them. As for SSD, don't have OCZ here for a reasonable...

ok, I'll get the cheapest SSD (Intel 40GB) for os, and only 1 Spin Point F3 for data. What difference would the memory make oc wise ? I can get either Ripjaws 1333mhz CL7 or Ripjaws 1600mhz CL9 (The 1333mhz cost 5$ less...), what difference will it make on a sandy bridge?

Hey, I was thinking of getting 2 X GTX 460 768MB. I've seen many benchmarks, yet not many 3d vision ones. My question is : Will I see a noticeable gain by using 2 X GTX 460 1GB instead of 768MB running 3D Vision on 1920x1080? and also, I will have to add 70$ to get 2X 1GB, so is it worth it?
