Not sure if it was running hot...wasn't monitoring that. It is a secondary computer that runs most of the time and it hadn't been on in a couple days.
Then when tried to boot, fans, lights came on etc...but no beep and no boot. Monitor not receiving any signal at all (as if the comp was still...
Not sure if this is strictly a Windows 7 issue or hardware/bios issue.
I have a Asus P67 Deluxe mobo.
This just started about 4 or 5 days ago.
Noticed it when the comp would not shut down.
I have the comp scheduled to backup the system and files on a 2TB WD Caviar Green Drive. The...
Having a problem with older PC and need some help with diagnosis.
1. About 6 days ago, the PC stopped booting/posting.
2. When power is pressed, the fans come on as do lights etc...but it doesn't post and there are no beeps. Monitor doesn't get any signal.
3. Tried some things...
I would like to know this as well as mine is working fine in the Marvell port as well.
It also says SCSI as does my HDD in that port.
Anything I should test, etc...?
Again, working fine, tried it for several things...
So, I tested out my bluetooth headset using the built-in bluetooth on my Asus P67 Deluxe Motherboard and I was getting fine reception for about 1-2 feet from the computer...as soon as I would stand up or take a step away, nothing but static.
Is anyone having any luck getting clear reception...
Basically my problem is whenever I run my 1600 CL8 GSkill 2x4GB RAM on my Asus 67 Deluxe at spec, I get BSOD upon booting into Windows.
Everything runs fine at 1333 CL9 (which the system defaults to in BIOS).
I have tried XMP as well as manually setting RAM to 1600 CL8...but same issue...
I have the same issue and am wondering about that too as I am not able to boot without BSOD when setting XMP or manually to 1600.
At 1333 or Auto there are no stabiity issues.
Running Asus Bios 1053 at the moment.
Here is my screenshot.
I am running 1053 and getting the 1600MHz RAM issues.
Basically I have Gskill Ripjaws X 1600 CL8...and it is AUTO set to 1333 CL9 by the BIOS.
If I change it to 1600MHz manually OR via XMP profile, I get BSOD when I boot right before Windows.
System is 100% stable at 1333...but can't get...
I have now purchased all the items on the list and will be picking up the final pieces tomorrow.
Here is the list again:
CPU - Intel i7-2600k
Motherboard - Asus P67 Deluxe
GPU - Evga GTX460 FTW Superclocked
PSU - Corsair AX850
Case - Coolermaster Haf X
CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-D14
RAM - 8GB...
I know you were looking at NewEgg...this one is out of stock, but is the best version of the 460...

Maybe find it elsewhere at a good value.
Maybe also consider the EVGA 460 FTW... I got this card and the reviews were absolutely outstanding for the price and runs much cooler than the 470s and up.
One of the many places I read about it was this forum...

Seems the stock cooler is really crap.
I know a lot of people are going with cheaper aftermarket coolers, but reading reviews, they all have negatives (crappy thermal paste...
Thanks for all the feedback guys! I truly do appreciate.
I got pretty good prices on a lot of the items I have so far.
The cooler only cost $70...which I thought was a steal.
I really want to avoid Gigabyte boards, have only had bad experiences as well as others I know too. I have always...
So, basically the GPU is the only real bottleneck here? Any other suggestions besides the GPU in terms of improvement?
Not sure what is wrong with the PSU?...only paid about $30 more than an HX750...so I think it is well worth it for the extra modularity, rating and 100W of juice. Also the...
Thanks for all the feedback!
Some replies:
- The thinking behind the 2 x HDD is as storage for lots of video and photos. The 1TB drive will be used mainly for photo and music storage, while the 2TB will be used for backing up the system and to store videos/movies.
- Going with the AX850 PSU...
I am really stuck on this too.
Here is what I am looking at (all Gskill):
RipjawsX 1333 CL9 - $77
RipjawsX 1333 CL7 - $103
RipjawsX 1600 CL9 - $99
RipjawsX 1600 CL8 - $135
Using the ASUS P67 Deluxe and the 2600k...won't be overclocking at this point. Using comp for mostly photo and video...
According to specs I have found they are 40mm in height and my CPU cooler (Noctua NH-D14 provides 44mm of clearance - according to Noctua website, they list Ripjaws as fitting under).
So, just CL9 1333 is the best bet?
Trying to decide on RAM for a new build. Going with 8GB of G.Skill with 1 of the following specs:
RipjawsX 1333 CL9 - $77
RipjawsX 1333 CL7 - $103
RipjawsX 1600 CL9 - $99
RipjawsX 1600 CL8 - $135
Which way should I go?
Thank you for the answer!
Ya, kind of stuck with what I want...I keep reading that the Caviar Green are slow as heck and have a high failure rate.
Why did you say it would be better to have the back up drive external (in enclosure)? What is your angle with that?
At first I was...
Putting together a Sandybridge system (2600k + Asus P67 Deluxe).
Have an OCZ Vertex 2 160GB SSD as the main drive and need to figure out the backup and storage drives.
Have about a $200 budget for them.
Here is what I am thinking...need some help deciding:
A) 2 x WD Caviar Black 1TB...
