  1. *** OFFICIAL 2011 MLB Season Thread ***

Tonight's double heard should be interesting as Tampa just beat Toronto to pull within half a game of Boston. And Boston is riding a four-game losing streak. I sure hope Tampa doesn't make it.
  2. anyone else waiting for GA-A75N-USB3 ?

No sir. I too am eagerly awaiting an A75 from Gigabyte. I just got the ASRock A75M-ITX and am looking forward to trying it out. There is a preview of the ASUS F1A75-I as well. Nice to see offering from Gigabyte and Zotac too. Everyone is hopping on the Llano mini-ITX bandwagon. :D I'll...

  5. Looking for best choice in VC

A Radeon 6950 is gonna run you about $250. A pair of 6750's in crossfire will run you $200 and should be similar in speed to the Radeon 6950 A Radeon 6850/70 will run you $150-$190 and will give you the best single card performance for your money. Add another in crossfire later on and now...
  6. Are there rules to the type of movie you can watch on your ipad on an airplane?

True, but it is really funny, which is a great reason to watch it.
  7. Beginner's Studio Equipment and Lighting Questions

I'm certainly no expert, but the lighting for my close-up of hardware for reviews is provided by desk lamps from Walmart and 6500K CFL bulbs diffused with a single sheet of white tissue paper. Total price, about $18. Couldn't ask for a better solution.
  8. That waiting game we all do...

Computers are like everything else. The release date for the new one is about two months after you spent all of your money on the current one which will be worthless in one month because everyone will be waiting for the new one next month. That's why future proofing in an oxymoron.
  9. Well, that explains a lot.

I always install the heatsink before the board goes into the case. Sometimes those plastic pins look like they're pushed all the way in but they aren't locked. It can take a good bit of pressure to snap them into place. Pull on the heatsink firmly to ensure that it is locked to the board.
  10. DFI ?

It appears that they are still around, but they are no longer offering consumer products.
  11. Do any of you run your own IT company?

I owned and operated an ISP back in the day when dial-up was the best we could hope for. Come to think of it, dial-up is still the best they have in that area. Gave it up after three long years. Now I run a technology website. Does that count?

Congrats on your finish! Well done.
  13. Where are the low profile 6670's?

You could always pair the HD 6570 with an A8-3580 APU and have yourself an HD 6630D2. Probably as close as your going to get to a low-profile HD 6670.
  14. **OFFICIAL** Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread

I really want to get excited about a Dec 20th release... but alas I fear that it will lead to disappointment when it inevitably gets pushed back... we've waited so long...

I will never question my liking for scrapple ever again! Thanks!!!
  16. Bologna is the base human sustenance

Ground meats are made from most of what is leftover after the real cuts of meat are removed. Bologna is made from the leftovers of ground meats. Scrapple is made from the leftovers of Bologna products. Mmm...scrapple. Can't get it north of the border. I wish I knew why I liked it...
  17. Cheap Way to Shoot 720p Video - S6100?

Hello all, I am looking for a cheap way to film 720p video. The filming will be indoors and well lighted. No rapid motion. I was considering a pocket HD camcorder (like the Flip) but most are fixed focal length and need to be a minimum of 5 feet from the subject. I need to work with inches...
  18. motherboard selection help for HTPC

The first motherboard you listed is mini-ITX, the rest are micro-ATX. Which format are you considering or are you undecided?
  19. SFF pc help

If your stuck on AMD, patience is your only option right now. The current stock on AM3 mini-ITX motherboards is slim and even the best six-core Phenom will be beat easily by a midrange Sandy Bridge. If you want midrange AMD, consider Llano. It's got more than enough power to run what's on...
  20. Low-Power, SFF PCs - which platform?

The ASRock is a good board. It's about the cheapest of the good H67 1155 mini-ITX boards an has most of the features you would need. Like Zap said, pair it with a 'T' series CPU (Pentium or Core) and you'll probably get less power draw than the older platforms you mentioned. I had the...
  21. Mini ITX mobo for amd phenom x6 125 tdp

The Zotac is an option if you don't need dedicated graphics. If you are planning on adding a video card, the MINIX 890GX-USB3 is your only option with 125w CPU support and it can be difficult to find. There's some more information on it here...
  22. LGA 1155 ITX Motherboards

There's a review of the ASRock H67-ITX here. Near the bottom it compares the power draw to a similar system using a DH67CF. ASRock H67-ITX Reviewed
  23. Asrock h67m-itx... go for it?

Here are a few more benchmarks and some thoughts about the H67-ITX. It seems to be a solid board and there are comparisons to the DH67CF. While both are similar, there are a few differences that you might want to consider. ASRock H67-ITX Reviewed Intel's 65w claim is indeed them just being...
  24. Sandy Bridge + SSD questions concerning new build

Took four months for me to get my $30 rebate from OCZ for a PSU, but I did get it. The DH67CF is a great choice. I got one last week and have it running with an i5 2500k. It's the first Intel board I've ever used and I have no complaints so far. It is a bit pricey compared to the other mITX...
  25. Are Intel Branded Boards any good?

I don't know about the P67 boards, but at least one of the new H67 Intel boards is apparently made by Foxconn. The Intel DH67CF has the Foxconn logo plastered all over it. I'm not complaining, it's running great so far.
  26. ITX 1155 board

NewEgg has the Foxconn and Intel available with the ECS on backorder. The Intel only supports 65w processors because Intel is concerned about heat issues with the 95w CPUs in ITX chassis (see the fine print in the product brief) such as the one the OP is considering. The DH67CF will run any...
