    The best Z77 Micro-ATX board?

No SLI. I always use a single GPU. I'd need 4Ghz OC from my i5 3570K. I did hear SATA and USB 3.0 drive performance might be underwhelming. (Techpowerup review) Will this affect SSD's? I have one Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

    The best Z77 Micro-ATX board?

Simple question. The Asus Gene V was great, but nobody sells that anymore. My local stores sell the Gigabyte G1 Sniper M3 for $99. Need one for my Bitfenix Prodigy M build. Has to fit a CM 212 Evo.

DVI->VGA monitor ok for gtx 670?

My 1920x1080 monitor is being fixed and I only got one replacement monitor. It's an Acer "whitescreen", around 1440x900 resolution I believe. It only has one VGA input and I'm wondering if a VGA cable (via VGA->DVI in gpu) will work fine or not. Will the monitor be blurry as hell?

    Asus VH242H or VE248H?

Which one should I buy? Prices are nearly the same, but the VE248H has a GTG response time of 2ms, while the VG242H only has 5ms. The VE248H is reported to have ghosting though, although people fix that with turning OD off/reducing trace free. Opinions?

Is LCD/IPS/OLED that bad? Or am I missing something

Is LCD/IPS/OLED that bad? Or am I missing something

Judder would explain the PS Vita, yes, since rayman does not have it. Judder does not explain my u2312hm however, since I own a gtx 670 and my fps is 60 99.9% of the times in WoW for example. I'm guessing the IPS is just because of the liquid crystals. I came across this picture...

Is LCD/IPS/OLED that bad? Or am I missing something

This is why I can't understand that a majority of people are using these screens without problems. Do their eyes react differently? Do they get used to it? Or do they just not care? My eyes pick it up as soon as I move anything on screen (although it takes a full turn to really notice it)

Is LCD/IPS/OLED that bad? Or am I missing something

How does it explain the OLED problem though? People always tell me "ghosting" or anything is impossible on OLED, but it's exactly the same as LCD/IPS. Liquid crystals (and whatever is causing it on OLED) are still slower than the good ol' CRT which didn't have any of these problems.

Is LCD/IPS/OLED that bad? Or am I missing something

I own a Samsung UE37D5000 LCD, Dell UE2312HM IPS and a Playstation Vita OLED, but all suffer from the same problem. Still images are great and perfect, but once I start moving, the problems appear. On the PS Vita, the OLED screen is marvelous, but when I turn my crosshair in Unit 13 at...

    Dell U2312hm blurry?

Yeah, I'm kinda wondering why not everyone has this problem. Not sure what to do now. I'd try getting "used to it", but it's quite difficult when you know it's there. Just wondering if regular lcd panels reduce the effect compared to my IPS panel, although this model seems to be quite good at...

    Dell U2312hm blurry?

I think it was also noticeable during Torchlight 2, but that's probably because blur/ghosting is easier to notice in a game where the pixels have to go right/left all the time. The monitor is connected via DVI, and I always use the native resolution (1920x1080). I will try turning FXAA off and...

    Dell U2312hm blurry?

All of my friends have a dell u2312hm, so when I was about to buy a monitor, they recommendee me that one. At first, it looks like a great monitor. Solid colors, nice stand and just an overall good quality. Problem is, while playing Guild Wars 2 I noticed something strange. When i just stand...

PSU noise not normal? (HCG 750)

I've just assembled my rig yesterday and everything seemed fine until my (sensitive apparently) ears started hearing something coming out of the rig. It's no superloud coil whine or anything, but it's audible. I found out it seems to be coming from the PSU. It's a faint electrical sound...

    No ghosting monitor...does it exist?

http://www.digitalversus.com/lcd-monitor/face-off/9084-8953-sde_cali.html This site actually has a good test. (worst result vs. best result) Just wondering what the difference is. If I add a Dell U2311H, the best result actually has 0% ghosting. Worst result does have some ghosting though...

    No ghosting monitor...does it exist?

I need a new monitor, and as the title said...I want to know if a non-ghosting model exists. I currently own a Dell XPS 17 laptop which suffers from heavy ghosting, atleast I think it's called that. When you move the mouse left/right quick, it develops a second mouse pointer which ends up...

Is my Dell XPS 17 gpu/screen faulty?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDr4sEP2Trc Just wondering, is this normal? I've been having it for several months now and it does annoy me now and then. Just want to know if this is normal about lcd technology or something. Don't want to buy a new laptop just to see it happen again.

Why does my mouse cursor keep ghosting?

Hey Anandtech, I've been noticing, since some time, that my mouse cursor has this "lighter version/ghost" following it when I move it around. This is best noticeable on dark backgrounds, but it is also noticeable on lighter backgrounds. Also, when I move it real quick from left -> right or...

New computer fails at 5 seconds

Don't think it's double boot, as that is related to OC settings or people who've been booting succesfully before it. I never reached any screen at all I will try booting again (my latest test was with heatsink/fan but without ram stick) I don't think it'll change anything. It seems like a RMA :(

New computer fails at 5 seconds

stuck like hell now. I've plugged EVERYTHING out and reseated the cpu and cpu cooler. I then placed it on cardboard and tried to boot it with only the cpu. EXACT same problem again. Also tried with my brother's PSU. There are 4 LEDs on the mobo (indication of CPU power) and all 4 of them...

New computer fails at 5 seconds

I can try reseating the CPU tomorrow (as it's 0:26 am here) but something tells me it's not cpu-related. The only thing I noticed while seating the cpu was that I had to use a little force on the lever. I would also swear the metal made a tiny line in the cpu (is this normal?) Also, I found...

New computer fails at 5 seconds

Tried without GPU Tried after pulling out mobo battery for a minute tried without dvd/hdd All of these have the same result. I can't even reach any screen at all so a memory test is impossible. I did notice the moment it shuts down is the exact same time I hear a small "beep"

    GT 540M crashing on dx11

So I've installed WoW and ran it on dx9. Ran at mostly 60 fps in org but it was kinda jerky/unsmooth. I quickly figured out my GT 540M is a Directx11 card and that's what causing the jerkiness (dx11 cards run unsmooth when WoW uses dx9, my high end desktop has this to) Problem is, whenever...

    Frame skipping -> view distance?

Disabled HT HDD is defragged The unused features in BIOS could be a problem. Not sure with Sandy bridge and all. Some say things like speedstep are now required for an OC etc,.. I also disabled HPET in Bios. (should give lower DPC latency and better gameplay)

I think I can reproduce the problem. When I enable viewdistance at low, then fly around with the video setting open and then change the view distance to high/ultra WHILE MOVING I get the same frame skip. I run viewdistance at high and my GPU has 2GB Video ram though. Or is viewdistance = HDD...

    Frame skipping -> view distance?

Hello, I'd like to discuss my problem: frame skipping. Basically, while running around in the outdoor world (flying/mount/on foot), I sometimes get these small freezes/skips which last for a split second (really fast) but they're noticeable. It looks like my character skips a frame. I...
