I believe that threadripper popularity will lower even more now with the availability of 16 cores on am4. Threadripper will be a really niche market.

The RX 570 underclocked seems a much better deal than a GTX 1050. You say it's an option in BIOS ? Can we underclock it with amd software or msi afterburner? Haven't played with those for a while

Price per GB, true, it costs more. BUT: 900p 280Gb can cost less than a 512GB 970 Pro, if you sell the code for the ship on eBay. That's what I did 10 months ago.

The quickest is not MLC, it's 3DxPoint, but for transfer rate it can be faster on MLC or TLC.

Pretty much the same as the Adata XPG SX8200 Pro which you can already buy. The performance is amazing but it gets really too slow when filled.

Question Got a new 1TB MX500 SSD - Make it boot drive?

Just try it and you'll see. Clone your hard drive. Just did that last week with EaseUs ToDo backup, it went smooth but it took a while. Once you reboot you can choose either the Sandisk or the MX500 and you'll boot with the exact PC, so you'll see if you can speed.

The only TLC SSD I've found that is almost catching up to the MLC Samsung with sustained writes is the XPG SX8200 Pro, the WD Black is not too far away either. I really wanted the WD black at first, but I will take the 5 years warranty instead of 3.

I would be happy to be able to copy data from my Optane to my storage SSDs at 2 GB/s. Now it's about 200 MB/s. I don't need the fastest out there, but TLC is slow for file transfer, so I would rather get something with a bit more punch.

Ok I tested with Prime95 and Furmark on 35 and 65 Watts TDP. I also connected my Kill-A-Watt to see power usage. Fun fact is that when I run Furmark at the same time, I overall have less power usage (CPU power lowers to 23 Watts) and the temperature is below 80 Celcius. Stopping Furmark brings...
