Update: I found this little article on enabling AHCI in Vista and Win7: http://www.mydigitallife.info/how-to-enable-ahci-support-in-windows/ It turns out that the registry change advised in that article was already applied, hence why I am seeing the AHCI entry in Device Manager already...

Do you use Linux and do that? I have never used Linux before but can probably use the old HDD to install Linux on and run off my primary rig.

A 6450 is cheap and is perfectly sufficient for HTPC use. I just don't see a need to spend more.

If it's going into an HTPC, you can get something like the HD 6450 for relatively cheap. Considering the 8800GTS draws somewhere around 100 watts loaded, the 6450 with its <30W TDP is a nice upgrade feature.

What are you scoring in 3DMark11? and what voltage is it at? My guess is your stock voltage is the max voltage. Also for the hell of it, what ASIC quality rating do you have? You should also rrerun 3DMark11 at 1200/1350. I scored higher with that than 1200/1400...maybe a ratio optimizing...

^Xonar DGX doesn't compare to Xonar DX. The build looks really solid to me as it is. The Hyper 212+ is a good call. I'm not a fan of the HAF design, but that's irrelevant.

hmm 1050 to 1200 sounds like a big jump. I think as cards reach max OC, it's not about temperature anymore but some kind of stability thing going on. When I attempt higher OC's the card crashes between temps rise. Edit: Unless the card is crashing because of a non-monitored part getting...
