Need assistance with An AP issue

No using the standard adapter yeah, im using a patch panel to switch. i tested the cables and get a pass through all of the wall ports. if i plug a laptop direct to the port it works fine as well.

Seeking advise on setting up a file server for getting music to smartphones

most Cisco/linksys routers have a media server ish type setting in them. so in theory yes you could do that. the issue would be with getting the music to the phone. idk if winamp for android supports streaming like that.

15 should be ok, you should assign static ip to each machine, since its likely that you don't have access to the router in this situation and cant know what the DHCP range truly is, but letting once of them connect via DHCP can give you an idea of the range and you can assign you statics this...

How to do test/improve my network speeds?

don't buy patch cables from mono price that last batch i got from them had 24 bad cables. after looking closer they are all 150mhz wiring as opposed to the standard 550mhz. cheap cables are cheap.

xp keeps rebooting, cant get into the OS or Safemode

Laptop shuts off after Windows Setup, but before it boots INTo Windows

I had a similar Gateway computer do the same thing with a client, I found that thier was an option to enable /disable AHCI in the Bios, which solved the issue and i was able to install Windows 7 on it. I initially though that it was the common igp Overheat issue but this solved the issue for me.
