I have two of these cards.. the drives show up under win2k just fine, and i can access them just fine..
the problem comes when it first boots.. i used to see a bios for it, with all the raid stuff where you could go in to the bios to set up everything..
now, with the 6400 server, i dont see...
<< YOU have to use this rig and let the kids use the 1ghz 512mb ram machine... >>
dunno about you, but 1ghz 512mb doesnt cut it.. im talking dual 1ghz with 1gb of ram.. waha.. watch them framerates fly!..
good deal on the desktop, especially for someone who just needs to check e-mail and...
just a thought, but wouldnt running IDE RAID controllers at ata100 solve that serverworksIII 'problem'?
I know that is what im doing right now, and it works GREAT! (raid-0 on two pair of 75GXP 45GB drives, two arrays of two each on two different controllers)
too much money.. i really dont want to spend much (if anything) over 400 shipped. the other two (samsung/viewsonic) fall within that..
on the other hand, yes, i agree, and if it were my system, i would probably skimp on something lik the memory and get the sony.. (of course, you know i would...
hmm.. lets see..

I have built two systems with the 4.1s, and have had nothing but GOOD things to say about them.
They are loud, clear, and cheap for what they are. very nice speakers for computer applications, espcially when watching DVDs (although, the 5.1s would make for true...
I am building a new computer system for my brother for graduation from high school.
I plan on using the following components: (price cap of 2000 total)
=========================================
Samsung 30.7GB IDE drive (already bought, paid for, and in use by him in another computer)
two 60GXP...
thought i would jump on the wagon here..
i have FOUR of the 45GB 75GXP drives. other than two instances of 'phantom HDD corruption', they have been nothing but WONDERFULL drives to me. the only stipulation to this is that they MUST (I cant stress this enough.. they >>>****MUST****<<<) be...
i have the TB cruz and my roomate got the philips.. he had problem with it and win2k. I dont know the specifics of the problems, but i dont think that he could get winamp to play anything without locking up.
I, on the other hand, had zero problems with my tb santacruz.
either way, NICE...
agreed.. the 16x iomeg.. err plexwriter is awesome.. for 250, i would personally wait for a cheaper price or the plex/sanyo models.. not to crap.. for a 20x yamaha, its a warm deal, but the extra 4x you gain over a 16x drive doesnt justify the extra 100 buck IMHO..

they have had solid state storage for quite a while now.. (expensive as hell, but its there)
i know you can get a PCI solid state 8GB storage unit (utilizing 8 1GB sdram modules) with secondary (plugs into wall) power backer that will keep the unit powered so as to not loose the data.
they are...
hmm, ill have to go back and retry that..
im running win2k pro for the OS.
so no problems with da, ea, and ba huh.. ill give it a whack, see if that helps.. thanks
yea.. i know, seems stupid, but the raid controller wasnt for the kt7a system, i was only testing speeds with it since it was the GHz system, and my other was the dual celeron system.. :)
its in the dual rig now, and im adding a second one here by weeks end
dunno what it does exactly, but i need to supposedly fool with this value to get my gf2gts running with my 750 oced to 1005 on my abit kt7a..
doesnt seem to make a difference so far.. :(
let me know if you find out what the hell it does.. ;P
if you stuck it in upside down, it WILL fry easily.. very easily. you will probably need a new bios chip
if you removed it quick enough, you may not have damaged it permanantly, just need to rewrite it, but if left in there too long (more than 5 seconds or so), then you will need to get a...
