Drvie plays DVDs and CDs fine, also burns CDs. It won't properly recognize a blank DVD speed shows as 2.4x and craps out when goes to start recording, speed should show up to 12x. In my computer changes from DVD to CD when blank DVD inserted.
Have tried different discs - Maxell DVD-R 8x MiJ...

It's a heck of a lot easier to sleep on a cold night than a hot one. Blankets, heat, walls, roofs, etc. all come in handy when it's 30 below like it is right now.

I got a 200GB SATA recently and it seems noisier than the 120GB WD SATA that's about a year old, weird. They are supposed to be a little faster at least for seeks so I guess it makes some sense. These are in a Dell 8300 so not much competing noise, I'd never really noticed the WD, I can notice...

I get paid every second Friday, October will be a 3 check month as well, but really makes no difference. My sister used to get paid on biweekly Thursday (day before me) but with the merger is now twice a month 15th & 30th I believe. She complained to me about it. :roll:
Another vote for AOL - TimeWarner, half the name gets dropped a while after the merger that sums it up in a nutshell. Horrid move by TimeWarner, AOL was pretty much past its prime regardless.

Aside from the overly expensive first computer, a P120 by NEC (remember the "Ready" line) that I had beyond its useful life; I'd say the HP 4X DVD burner for $170 that I've used exactly once.
Possible causes for zero heat:
Tripped or burnt out fuse (1 to heat, 1 to tumble)
Thermal fuse (inside the dryer)
Thermostat (up to three including cutoff)
Heating element
sensor (if equipped)
timer
set to airdry (no heat setting, doh!)
lose, disconnected, or burnt wire
That should cover it...
