I'm not sure that "for idiots" is exactly what I'm looking for. He is not computer illiterate. It's more that his relatives want to give him this book to make sure that he has a good understanding of the basics and fundamentals and not just stuff he's learned online. I don't necessarily agree...
I've been assigned the task of finding the best introductory computer book for my 18 year old German cousin. He speaks/reads English pretty well apparently. The book is supposed to cover a wide range of topics from computer fundamentals, hardware basics, networking, and programming. Basically...
They have this item in the B&M stores as well (at least they have the iron which I bought today). I don't know if you can use the 20% off in store (I did not) but just ask for the $15 gift card form at the register and you'll get it. Price was same as on the web ($19.99)
I tend to agree that the market is far too saturated unless you plan on doing something dramatically different. Good cusomer service is nice, but I don't think its going to singlehandedly make a profitable business. On the other hand DaveSimmons pointed out some excellent ideas for niche...
TCWO has an excellent Reseller Ratings score. I have ordered from them with no problems. Sorry to hear that STiSev didn't have a pleasant experience, but I think that his feelings are the exception from the rule.
For those that are looking for a reliable power supply and have read Tom's Hardware reccomended power supplies review are likely searching for the Fortron/Verax FSP or Herolchi HEC power supplies. As the directron source mentioned in the above posts us currently out of FSP300-60ATV, I thought...
You need to install the phonetic russian keyboard software from here. It might also be just easier/faster to type in transliterated english characters and have a webpage convert the translit to cyrillic characters.

Thanks! I ordered. I've been looking for a reasonably priced and somewhat good camera for a while :) I found this review to be the most helpful. Also I was considering getting the 64mb sm card (for $20 after $20 discount) but decided to get the free 32mb one because the 64mb cards can be had at...
This covers it pretty well..
The optical zoom magnifies (zooms in) using glass. The digital zoom basically crops out the edge of the picture to make the subject appear closer, causing you to lose resolution or to get an interpolated resolution (i.e. the camera adds pixels). Neither of which...
As mentioned before, this firewire card is extremely sensitive to FSB (Front Side Bus) changes. I run my system at the 83MHZ FSB (overclocked) and the scanner can not handle it. Scanned images have miss-colored dashes. In that hi-res comparison the image on the left is scanned at the 66MHZ FSB...
I used CadKey for a class, and it was quite possibly the worst designed piece of software I've come across. So stay away from that. I gave up on one of the projects and installed AutoCAD, a substantially better piece of software. I'd reccomend that if you can get it.
note that the model is Sharp VL-WD450U, (0, not O) but yes it looks like a pretty good cam and a pretty good deal.
The camera is actually cheaper than $400. It is $469 at ecost - $100 rebate. If you bump your order to $500 (get some miniDV tapes) then shipping is free.

Talk about being backwards.
I can understand VCD (mpeg1) perhaps (though you'll still loose quality due to lossy nature of codecs) but if you're converting DivX to anything else, you're wasting your time.
I'm pretty sure it will degrade with each succession. The wave file you started with the first time is not the same wav file you have the second time, so the mp3 algorithm will choose to throw out different data to meet the 192kbit bitrate.
You're looking at pages that were designed with tables that look fine at resolutions of 800x600 and higher. Basically the width of the table will be the same at all resolutions. They weren't made to take up the whole screen because of how the webmaster wanted the page to look. This is quite common.
I've used godaddy with no problem at all. I consider it the best domain registation place. My transfers took less than a day and I never had to use tech support. Sorry to hear about your troubles.
I generally use memorex labels because they are good quality and cheap. $10 for 100 pack is a decent deal. Any printer should be able to handle them, mine is an epson 740. Also I use Sure Thing CD Labeler for the software.
Communism by its main implications and uses is not a religion.. I can believe that my computer is god, but that doesnt make geekism a religion. Also on the topic of Jedi Knight, no one ever recognised it as a religion, but no one has ever recognised anything else as a religion either.
