    The 7770 is better at tessellation. Less performance drop enabling tessellation vs no tessellation. But otherwise the 6870 is faster.

    The max is 1.3v. How did you get 1.5v? For 950mhz try 1.175v to 1.2v. That's what the 6870 use as stock voltage. Try to get the memory up over 1200 as well. Btw even at 900mhz it's already 15% - 20% faster than a 6870 without tessellation.

    In the anandtech article the 7850 had it's memory overlocked as well. Not a fair comparison. But even then it had problems catching the 7870 in some games. My estimates are somewhere between 1050 - 1100mhz.

    The 5850 overclocked is faster than a 5870. The 7850 stock is around the 5870 to as fast as the 6970 if tessellation is used. The 7850 overclocks 20% - 30% but scaling is poor. Go for 7970/ 670 minimum.
