I just found out my motherboard has no ide connector. Is there some way to hook up my laptop straight to the motherboard? Can I somehow "make" a copy of windows onto my ipod...it probably won't boot with it properly... What are my options while I wait for a cd drive to arrive?
I'm thinking about pulling the trigger for 2x 6950s off newegg for $230. Considering the rest of my system cost is already sunk, any reason I shouldn't do this? I hope to just break even or a little higher including the cost of power with these cards, then sell them in 6 months to a year...
I've been reading a lot about how these reference 6950s are unlockable. Is this true of the reference cards only? It seems that $220 AR for locked card on newegg is a better deal than $280 that is unlockable with a 5-10% performance gain.
