    Yeah, I was doing the same thing until about 30-40 hours in. I got to level 30-40 before I knew you could deposit your crafting materials and have them stored in your bank. I had been putting them in my own vault and selling off tons that I couldn't fit.

    I've got a decent mix, but most of my close IRL friends mainly play on console (PS3 specifically). None of them are really hardcore gamers by any means, we use it more of a chance to stay in touch and hang out when we are scattered all across the country/world.

    I've never really ran into much problems on Versus servers, although I don't play versus all that often. I mostly just play custom campaigns for funsies.

    I played the beta, its alot of fun. Watch out for friendly fire, alot of people jump and it dont realize you can hack off your teammates limbs.

    There's plenty of replay value with Portal 2, just grab user made maps on the Steam Workshop. Similarly with L4D2, there are tons of custom campaigns you can get on l4dmaps.com

    I don't frequent the community sections much but I must agree with the Facebook comparison. Everything feels very busy and disorganized but I'll give it time to see if it will grow on me. I'm glad they are trying to improve community aspects though, even if it may not be the best iteration.

    I'm very guilty of this as well, I really noticed this in playing Black Mesa. Anytime I got some armor or more health I'd quick save immediately. I'll take quick saves over a checkpoint system any day.

    I've never seen a scrolling line of advertisements in any of my Steam games. You can't say they are forced advertisements when you can easily shut them off. Sure they are on by default, but they are at least relevant to gaming and the Steam platform. Its not like you are having Coke or Uncle...

    What kind of performance issues are popping up with quad cores? I haven't noticed any problems on my 2500k but Ill keep my eye out. It was Greenlighted through Steam so it should be on Steam sometime, not sure how long the whole process takes though.

    I completed my first tour, it was a real chore getting a team that all didn't want to play sniper or engie. Mann Up mode is definitely more fun and challenging than boot camp though.
