I think your performance would be greatly improved if you had something truly flat there instead of the Al foil. Even microscopic deformities in a heatsink can seriously hurt performance. The problem is even worse with flip chip CPUs with no heat spreader on them. However, short of buying...
146bnbox for 199 at tiger direct
In stock! Don't flame me! They also have 144bnbox for 169. So at these prices, do you think it is better to get 3200+?? How well does the 3200+s that are available now oc? If not 3200+, then 144 or 146?
back in the day, there was always a good known overclocker:
p3 700 @ 933
cel 300 @ 450
I think people want to know if there is a known good overclocker like that. I have a feeling the answer is no because AMDs aren't multiplier or clock locked, so any proc can run at any settings?
Almost forgot. My local WM had the TI-89 on sale for $100 in the clearance isle. They had 3 there and 6 in the electronics isle that weren't marked as clearance and were still marked $149. I also picked up a solar financial calculator for half price.
Kamazon, I looked at webulexwebulex and apparently they give you your own IP address and free SSL. Looks like a great host for e-commerce. I may switch to them.
I would also like to remind everyone that has a static IP, they can get free domain name forwarding to their IP address at...
If any of you have a fairly static IP and can leave your computer on for a while, you can host your own website until we find out either way with CW. There is a free service to point your domain name to your IP at DomainCow I think they are owned by Tucows. You just sign up with them and...
Well said, Salvador. Those who take the risks, will reap the rewards. That said, I cancelled my order. I already got in on the OD 40GB drive deal, so I don't need the hassle for this one.
Silly me, I guess you are using 2k. I would suspect the error has nothing to do with SCSI and simply means your burn crapped out (because of bad media?). Did you switch the type of media that you are using recently? You can find out what kind of media it is by reading the ATIP with a utility...
What OS are you using? If 95/98/ME, the first thing I would do is reextract the Windows ASPI layer. If that doesn't do it, boot into safemode and look for ghost listings for your CD-ROMS in device manager (again assuming you are using 95/98/me)
My 8x4x32 was bad. I tried two different OS's, and two different burning programs, two different IDE controllers (onboard, and promise), two different types of media (including philips), many different settings, and all I got was coasters. TOO bad Philips doesn't have a support number. I'm...
Shathal pretty much covered it except the P4 requires an additional connector on the power supply. You can buy the connector separately or you can get a power supply that is already designed to work with the pentium 4.
I think Intel will completely abandon RIMMS. So, you may be better off...
I checked a few websites and the companies that specify that they are selling the CC0 version charge WAY to much. If I can get a 933 for about 220, I should find the 700 @ about $140. Anybody have any suggestions?
If I go the AMD route, what is the best overclocked value I can get with a $150...
I 3rd that rgroves. I haven't gotten my first switch yet either, but I am not worried. Buy.com tried to make everyone happy by honoring the deal, but there is no pleasing some of you.
Thanks for the deal DCdomain. Just so nobody has any regrets, please keep in mind that flat panel (not flatscreen) monitor sales are supposed to quadruple this year over last. Translation- flat panel monitors might be affordable by the end of the year. Keep your eyes out for a new type of...
I ordered mine on 3/5/01 and it says SENT TO WAREHOUSE. I figure since I live in the Midwest, the warehouses in this area won't be sold out yet.
