    I opted for the 2 gig nano (1st gen) refurbed at apple.com for 99 bucks. If they are the same price though, it's a no brainer to get the 2nd gen.

    I'd recommend a used Lexus ES300 (96-97ish). Very quiet and a step above the Accord and Camry. I've seen a few for 6k in decent condition.

    EE makes more? Not according to Salary.com. Mechanical Engineers in Northern CA make 65k for bachelors, 80k for masters (level II) Electrical Engineers on the same basis make 64k and 77k respectively. Times have changed. There is a surplus of EE graduates and not as many ME grads.

    Used Boxster S may come under $30k. M3 is a good choice too. Probably one of the fastest coupes in your price range. I have an 02 and it's very nice. Also have a supercharged Miata and it's more fun than the M3 FWIW. Life's too short to not drive a convertible.

    G35 Twin Turbo....

    the stock g35 brakes are actually very good, especially the 6MT brembos. they might not look huge compared to those wheels but they can stop the car from 60 in like 112ft which isn't bad. of course a big brake kit would look nice and provide better fade resistance.

    hmmm most expensive house in my area (Saratoga, CA) is 19 million and that gets you 5200 sq ft, 3 beds, 3.5 baths. average house price here is well over 1 million though and there are 4 houses for sale on realtor.com for over 15 million, gah. time to move to cleveland!

    I have the RE750's and they're great. Bridgestone does make a lot of different models so it may be just the line you have. I haven't heard of others on the car forums having problems with their S03s either.
