I'm not saying that i'm playing at a constant 60+ fps,my bad, being a longtime console gamer i find myself being content with much lower fps especially in games which do not require high fps to still deliver an enjoyable experience(i'm not playing MP).I obviously get framerate drops but they're...
Obviously not every single multiplatform game runs at a lower res on the ps3 but some do. Check this out. http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=46241
Rockstar games run at an higher res on the 360.
CPU wise is more powerful. But yeah,on the gpu side the 360 has an edge and that's why multiplatform games run at a lower res on the ps3.What really makes the ps3 a better product is their first party devs.I bought the playstation 3 just for the exclusives and i wasn't disappointed.
Unless you want to use less power there is no reason to get an i3.Source games are not that demanding even if they're single threaded.Unless you wanna play at 200fps you'll be more than ok with your current setup.
It's been 3 weeks since i made my new build.Everything works fine except one thing:every time i turn off the computer the psu continues to emits sounds as if the pc was still on that go away only if i unplug the psu from the wall.Is that normal? And it makes a weird screeching noise whenever i...
Keep the cpu,the games you are playing are not at all cpu-intensive and they don't even need a 200$ GPU.If you want to waste money get a 6850 but anything more than that would be way overkill. My advice would be to keep the cpu and get a 5770/6770.You'll easily max out all those games.
Those are single player benchmarks. The only MP benchmark around is this one http://www.sweclockers.com/image/diagram/2506?k=142b45af179c625ccd8f53fea7385155As you can see the more the cores the better the game runs.Unless you get an in i5 which is a bit faster than the x6 even tho it has a...
No,BF3 MP is easily one of the most cpu demanding games out there. While i completely agree that running an i3 will give you a good gameplay experience(that's exactly what i'm getting) switching to an i5 will give you much better performance, especially at lower settings and in multi-gpu...
Forget about those benchmarks. They are Single Player benchmarks.Check this out: http://www.sweclockers.com/image/diagram/2506?k=142b45af179c625ccd8f53fea7385155 .This refers to the most stressful MP portion of the game.Look at the phenom 560 dual core:paired with a 6990 on medium settings is...
If you plan on playing BF3 mp stay away from the g620.It will absolutely choke every gpu you throw at it.BF3 MP doesn't like dual cores. The i3s on the other hand thanks to HTT run the game like butter.
I completely agree with you and i wouldn't recommend anything other than a quad sb.Problem is that where i live there is a whopping 60(81$) euros price difference between the 2120 and the i5 2400.Also on a tight budget the i3 keeps power consumption extremely low giving me the chance to spend...
I honestly can't say.Overclocking the gpu gave me a nice fps boost and i think there's still room for improvement. It could probably be paired up with a 6950 or a 560ti without holding them back.Either way i think that i3s belong in budget builds. The GTX 570 certainly does not.
My new i3 2120 seems to do just fine in multiplayer bf3 @1080p.Coupled with an hd6870(oc'd to 1000/1175) my average fps are in the high 50s with a low of about 45 and cpu usage never goes over 80%.This on caspian border with 64 players. In operation metro with the same settings i average 70...
Ok now this is weird.I'm running prime95 to check under load temps:cores are around 55-60° while the CPUTIN dropped from 80 to 60.This is weird.I'm testing with hwmonitor.
Ok it seems that what you guys described was the problem.I did exactly what you said and i'm happy to report a 35° core idle temperature. But i still get a really weird 80° CPUTIN value.Should i be worried?
Ok so today i built my first rig.everything seems to be fine except the cpu(an i3 2120)gets instantly insanely hot(71°c).I use the stock cooler and i think i installed the heatsink correctly. It even shows that it's working on the bios. What should i do?
I don't know,i think that krait will start to appear on devices in late march-early april, and that's usually when htc releases their yearly international lineup. We'll see.
I don't see HTC using Tegra. They will obvioulsy release a halo phone during that time frame and i'm guessing it will run on qualcomm's krait architecture.Power efficient 28nm dual core with high clockspeed.
h61 budget boards by asus and gigabyte will support IB.Who cares if it won't overclock,i bet the cheapest IB i5 will be plenty fast.As i see it if you have the money right now you should go for an i5,if you can't,i think that i3s are a better choice compared to phenom IIs.
Get the i3.It consumes 1/2 of the power consumed by pIIs,it gives you an upgrade path, and it just plain faster in video games,it has a huge advantage in 2-threaded games and it is still ahead in games that support 3 or more cores.
as soon as the parts arrive....just ordered today, they'll be here next week.As soon as i get it running i'll help you.But it might be too late for you.
You can't trust SP benchmarks for BF3.I just ordered new components for BF3 and because of money issues i had to settle for an i3 instead of an i5.I asked around and it seems that people with i3 2100s are not having any problems with this game especially at high resolutions.I picked the i3 over...
Look, even in a lot of multi threaded games the i3 2100 mops the floor with hexa-core phenom IIs and it stands toe to toe with the i5 760 while completely destroying it in less optimized games.I don't think it is going to be a bottleneck.
Actually it does support 2 way crossfire.Would you say that there will be a performance jump as huge as the one we saw from radeon hd3xxx to the hd4xxx?Going back to the cpu.I just read this http://www.techspot.com/review/458-battlefield-3-performance/page7.html , it looks like cpu is not so...
First of all thanks for your input.I thought that in BF3 dual cores can get you pretty terrible minimum frame rates.I actually prefer to play at slightly lower settings so that i can have a smooth gameplay, config 3 should let me do that right?About the upgrade to ivy bridge:i don't know if that...
Thanks to the both of you.My current GPU is a 4670 so no,i can't wait.I will be playing at 1080p.And no i can't shell out 62 euros more right now.Config 3 is actually over the limit,i can't stretch any further.
The Nexus S is not far superior compared to the N1,that's just a fact. While it is an improvement at least gpu-wise,it is actually a slight step back cpu-wise(look at every single anandtech benchmark on cpu power) and they also share the same amount of RAM.The only possible technical argument...
Ok so i have 450 to get MOBO-CPU-GPU-PSU-RAM.I made a thread here a couple of months ago to ask you guys some pointers and you were very helpful. It is time now to get the new parts. Here are 4 configurations that i came up with and i'd like to hear your opinions about them.
PSU and RAM are the...
