Thanks, but man, is that obtuse! Sadly, neither 1040X nor 1040-X are explicitly called out, like 1040 is. There is one mention of "amended", but it sounds like some special case. A glimmer of hope is pretty dim.
The new date is July 15 for 2019 returns, but nowhere can I find if that also applies to the three year deadline for a 2016 amended return. I can see arguments for either way but it sure would be nice to actually know! I suppose I can see if the IRS answers the phone AND has a correct answer...

I noticed today that a very light touch is sometimes required when it locks up, so it could be a touch screen issue as opposed to a locking up issue. This would fit with how the 3D Touch was terrible and things improved a lot ever since I turned that off.
