palit's are good, but yeah, evga is probably the best souce for nvidia cards

whoops haha i read agility 2 ^^ also the 6950 1gb is not as good as the 570 you chose, but it is enough for a suitably good gaming computer. just saving money here and there

the i5 2500k is about 40 dollars cheaper than the one you chose, but since first generation i7 920 through 960 or so, the difference is easily made up with overclocking, so you could go with a cheaper 920 if you wish to do so. the ram is certainly a good deal, however, if you realistically...

6790 or GTX580? Performance to value?

gtx 580 is pointless unless you really have money to throw away, if you're just planning on gaming like the rest of us, just go for the 2500k and either the 570 or the 6970, and really unless you're going eyefinity, 570 will be enough.

thats the thing, its already been ordered, and either way im planning to upgrade to trigate next year, so one year with the 1090t shouldnt be too bad

Higher than 1080/1200 is not for everyone...

just wondering as i am thinking of going bigger resolutions or even eyefinity, but can you focus on a 27'' monitor? i mean, i play sc2 on a 24'' 1080p monitor, and i think thats already too much for me

even if the 7xxx series do release this fall, it'll be a while until the higher end 7xxx series comes out, which are the cards you want. expect for next year

agree with toyota, 1680x1050 is plenty, and a 6870 or even the gtx 560 will be able to run most games very well

i guess this is an issue with most thuban family amd cores, and probably will be an issue with the upcoming bulldozers, but most games use at max 4 cores, even though overall clock will be higher before turbo, will it make any difference from a gaming perspective?

How do i OC my i7 950 to 4.5 or 5GHz on a H70??

well if you're not scared to fry it or are planning to move onto sandy bridge instead, wait for the h100 or get the h80 and try it.
