Just to be clear, does his plan prevent the cuts from expiring like they're planned to, or are you saying this plan simply doesn't make them expire immediately? Those are two quite different things, and I can't believe Reid would actually put something in this bill that addresses the expiration...

BT voice controls on an Android - am I doing it wrong?

What phone are you using? Are you rooted and running a different ROM from stock? On my EVO the BT dialing through my plantronics works pretty well on a stock ROM and on Fresh 3.2 - both of which have Sense still on the phone. I hold down the button for a second, hear "Speak Now" prompting...

That's like saying AT&T can stipulate in their contract that I'm not permitted to have a landline in my home provided by Verizon because that cuts into the amount of minutes I'd use on their plan. It's hardly a rationale any reasonable person would suggest. All of this talk from other people...

I don't think you quite know how GV was working. You don't circumvent any of AT&T's services. If someone were to call your Google number it rings your cell number and you're still using minutes on your AT&T plan. If you want to place a call via Google Voice the app basically sends the API...

If there weren't an SDK already planned with development documents already out there I'd think this would be more exciting. What exactly is the point with official development stuff available? I didn't even think Palm was requiring WebOS apps to be distributed through the App Store, unlike Apple.

Not impressed with Pre.. So what's up next??

If I remember correctly, video capture is only on the 3GS, it is not a part of the 3.0 update to original and 3G iphones. Same deal with the voice control, that's only on the 3GS too (this one is ridiculous, IMO).

The company in question is also under investigation by the state's Attorny Gen. - at least I read that somewhere. Regardless of the facts in this specific case, the problem of banks taking the bailout money and not actually turning around and making money available is a real problem.

The Illinois governor was just on CNN speaking at this factory. He said the state will no long do business with Bank of America. I'm unsure whether this is a formal, binding decree on state agencies or if it's just a request to agencies.

Well, you really can't call on Obama to donate money to charity that was given to him by donors (both large and small) explicitly for use in his campaign. People aren't giving him money to turn around and give to charity, so it's hardly worthwhile to sit here and chide him for "flushing"...
