Control thermostat program with outdoor sensor

How bout using a simple Honeywell aquastat model 1018 and breaking Y between your air handler and tstat through the "opens on temp rise" terminals of the aquastat. I believe the temp range is 65 to 200F. Only issue would be if the tstat calls for cooling it will kick the fan on regardless of...

Fair enough. But someone like me who plays at 2560x1440 on a gtx 970 I'm already pushing close to 4gb on many games, I can't see myself upgrading to a card 40 to 50% faster with the same vram. Maybe your right about these cards arent strong enough to push 4k, other resolutions like 1440/1600p...

Fury X is a good card. But when it didn't meet the insane hype, people will grasp any positive they can find to justify it like crossfire performance at 4k while ignoring everything else like future vram needs for 4k or overclocking potential.

Wrong. When the titan came out 6 gb was excessive, games weren't using anything close to 6gb(just like the 12gb titan X is now) and everyone knew it. A better example is the 2gb 680 vs the 3gb 7970, when the 680 came out reviews didn't show it to be a problem (similar to fury x now) but games...

If I'm going to buy a $650 flagship card, I'll be buying it to play games a year or two out and seeing that games are pushing 4gb now I would feel much better with the 6gb 980ti. Especially if I was going sli/crossfire.

It's best to ignore them. Same people were claiming 4gb of vram would be a fail for fury x when the "8gb dual link interposer" rumors were the running rampant, yet now 4gb is no problem.

best SUB 200 card ATM

Russian I can assure you the GTX 570 can handle skyrim with 2K mods as well as other graphics mods with no problem at 1080P.

Judging by the lame press conference JHH just gave at CES it looks to be later, it was all Tegra and the asus transformer prime and some windows 8 tablet. Although the just announced 7 inch transformer for $250 looks like a money maker. Tegra 3 looks to be there main priority right now.

Nvidia using 7xx is just a rumor which hasnt been confirmed in less you know something we dont. If kepler releases in late 1Q i wouldn't count on any respins that close to the 7970 launch. I would wait another month to see performance of the rest of the 7xxx series as well as more info on...

Won't be buying a 7970 before I see reviews on the 7950, from the looks of it we might have a 6950 that unlocks to a 6970 with the 7900 series and if it doesn't it still seems like the 7950 will be close enough in performance making it the much better buy.

There holding a press conference on Jan. 9 at CES not CeBIT. There streaming it on the web so should be interesting to see if we get anything concrete on Kepler. If its some lame press conference About Cuda or Tegra I'll take it as Kepler's still not ready and most Likely 2H of 2012.

There were some early rumors of nvidia launching Kepler from the bottem up but latest rumors have been pointing towards nvidia launching there performance part (GK104) first. Most likely around the time AMD launches the HD7950. Of course this is all speculation.

Market share only tells part of the story, AMD gained market share but sacrificed profits in doing so. Nvidia on the other hand priced there cards at a premium favoring margins over market share. Its pretty obvious which business model was more succsessful. Looking at the new CEO quotes...

Nvidia should be dropping the price of the 580 to $350-400 come Jan.9 or shortly there after, if not they risk the 580 becoming irrelevant. What interests me is does the 560ti and 570 follow suit, those cards might also get a welcomed price cut.

Maybe your right, all these different part numbers some maybe kepler some maybe a fermi die shrink with release dates from Q1 to the end of 2012. Kepler could be having issues causing Nvidia to panic and do a quick shrink of fermi to get them by. Who knows

There's no merit to any of your dire projections for Kepler, i'm not saying you might not be right(time will tell) but i have not seen anything of the sort that your talking about. Latest rumors have GK104 and GK100 released in Q1 and Q2. Edit: thread is about the 7970 so ill move on.

Kepler taped out in September so if you say 8 months that puts it at late Q1 to early Q2. That coincides with recent rumors of GK104 (560ti replacement) in Q1 and GK100 (580 replacement) in Q2.
