Which gaming laptop for $2000?

Toshiba has a few X305's with different configs... I use an sli model and love it.. But there are non SLI with 1GB 9800GTX's in there as well Check them out Here at Toshiba Direct

Depends... If mobility and longer battery life is the issue (which it usually is for smaller and more mobile machines, my users are all on the road 30-60%) then the faster CPU and integrated GFX. If you dont care about battery life, then it will be discrete. Side note, NVS 110M with...

ummm.... I beg to digress... but the U200 is actually the same machine as the Tecra M6, only differnence is color for Satellite. So along with the Easy guard tools built in (HDD protection, spill resistant KB, shock protection).. and the fact the the screen is a 210nit TB? Have any of you...

**HOT** 17" Toshiba P100-ST9012 $1699 w/ 512MB 7900GTX @Toshiba Direct Clearance

I have been able to upgrade these to C2D without a problem in the past.... Figure $300 for a T7200 and some labor, I think at even $2K it is still a great deal... Of course I am biased, I now have 2 of these now :)

Have you tested ReadyBoost with your integrated SD reader?

Used it sucessfully on my Toshiba P100-ST9412 (Vista Ultimate, not much of a jump since I had 2GB of RAM already) and Tecra M5. Used a Corsair High Speed 1GB on the M5 with 1GB of RAM (Vista Business, RC1 and RC2) and I saw the most improvement with running Office Apps and Internet browsing...

mobile core2duo question

Also the T5600 supports 64-bit whereas the T2400 does not. If you are notebook shopping, and your budget affords it get at least a T7200 (2.0Ghz Dual Core with 4MB L2), that should be the way to do it.

I would check the samsung drive for jumpers. Even the 2.5" have jumpers on them, if there are any jumpers installed, pull them and try....

Good day all, I seem to have some DDR2 and various other parts lying around, including a Mobile Core Duo T2500 (2.00Ghz, 667Mhz, 2MB L2) and a Core 2 Duo T7400 (2.16Ghz, 667Mhz, 4MB L2). Given that I have all this, I was trying to figure out if there is an SFF unit out there or an adapter...
