Sudden loss of hearing wtf?

Your sinuses are connected to your ear. If you have congestion they can cause blockage to get into the ear cavity. I suggest taking a mucinex and seeing if that clears it up, it's done the trick when I've had similar experiences.

HELP - MB/CPU Upgrade for BF4 - AMD or Intel - Budget Conscious

I believe the newer FX cpu's don't experience the same bottle neck as the previous ones. If you are budget conscious, you'll enjoy the savings that AMD has to offer (as well as on the motherboard) and can throw the money into memory or a larger SSD which definitely have a larger performance impact.

If all my mom does is play games and surfs the net, should i upgrade her RAM?

As said above, she would need 64 bit OS to utilize the memory. I just put my mom on Windows 8 dev preview and she likes it, and it's a lot harder for her to mess it up.

Yes, I'm aware that Oracle has the Sun hardware unit still in operation. But Larry Ellison has been recently quoted about wanting to go after a chip company. In addition, Oracle is interested in beefing up the hardware side of their business.

AMD is slated to ship Bulldozer this week. I expect that we should see performance numbers next week. On both fronts (Intel and AMD) you will see a price adjustment. The other aspect of building an AMD machine is you can usually get a cheaper motherboard ~$50-$60 cheaper from my experience...
