$650 or so is my cap. That laptop seems pretty great but I'd like to look around a bit more, do you happen to have info on any other deals?

    Opinions on potential laptop?

Hey everyone, I just came across this deal while looking for a decent laptop to lug around for university stuff and am considering buying it but wanted everyone's opinions. With Black Friday just around the corner, I'm not sure if I should buy this...

    Jagged Edges?

I am running a Radeon HD 6950 and am noticing jagged edges in games that I am sure should be running without a hitch. My drivers are up-to-date but cant seem to get it to function just right. Here's an example of such: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/684/screenshot00002p.png/ My AA is on...

    Serious Installation Issues

Hey guys, I seem to be having what I am solely guessing to be a writing issue on part of my HDD. Whenever attempting to install, I face issues. The Witcher 2, Arkham Asylum, Civilization 5 and Virtual Clone Drive all fail to install with differing isues. Witcher 2 not passing the initial...

Hey guys, everything is going great, but I have one minor issue. The back-end USB 3.0 ports dont seem to be working, nor the PS/2 Connector (Tested using an old keyboard I had laying around. Confirmed working.) Any ideas on what may be causing the issue? Also, I am posting from the new...

    Building On a Budget: $780

Hey guys, the last of my parts came in this morning. Any tips or relevant guides on how to assemble the beast? I have an idea on most of it, but i'd rather have a source from which to cross-check.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102945 That model is an example of the aforementioned. If you look around in the ratings you're sure to come across it various times. The dual bios allows for such. "Pros: It unlocked. Flip of a switch." -N/A "Other Thoughts: Dual BIOS switch is...

    Building On a Budget: $780

According to the bit i've read, however, it seems that some come equipped with switches which when switched unlock the shaders. As such, I doubt it would cause a warranty issue if swapped back, no?

    Building On a Budget: $780

Hey guys, its a bit early for build questions but im curious as to the whole unlocking 6950 -> 6970 deal. Would this cause any sort of issues due to the limitations on part of the PSU and lack of cooling? Im a bit weary of shortening its life span by running it too hot or overclocking it...

    Building On a Budget: $780

I just dropped the DVD drive and will put in a crappy one I have laying around till I can afford a better one. But it wont be too long till I can afford a $20 drive, quite honestly. So I guess this is what ill end it at. My wallet weeps slowly as my anxiety preps for serious fun.

    Building On a Budget: $780

Sure. Just swapped out for it. Ah, i'd love to but im between a rock and a hard place. Is the performance difference that noticeable? Im considering the HAF912 currently. Im a bit of an aesthetics whore, pardon my sophistication.

    Building On a Budget: $780

Yup. I actually ended up saving a bit more than that from a few X's and Y's I was able to change. The price match ItsAlive recommended also worked great. About $25 off. And hmm, I was set on the case for the sheer aesthetics. Oh poor vanity. Would the 1GB I posted be worth the upgrade? I guess...

I would love to buy that one, but I cant afford the 8 week wait for the rebate. I was looking at this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&SID=u00000687) because it is affordable prior to any MIR that I may get from all the products i'd like to order. Also, check the wishlist...

Nice, sounds good. I was pretty much set on it due to slightly better reviews. However, any ideas on the $240 aspect I posted on prior? Edit: Ah, you beat me to it. Edit (2): Im pretty much stuck at the $240 line, I dont really have a dollar over that to spend on this project. Any ideas on a...

Well, I can't say that one wasn't expected. At the very least it shows the moderator's desire to maintain high standards. Anyway, just realized with the money I saved via the price match (Many thanks, ItsAlive) and from more appropriate selection of parts, I have about $240 for the GPU. Any...

    Building On a Budget: $780

Alright, sounds good. Many thanks. Any thoughts on the case? And I had looked at that one prior. If I get more positive input on it, I wouldnt have an issue with swapping them. On a secondary note, I fail to see the supposed provocation nor the purpose of taking it to heart. Internet arguments...
