I tried putting in another video card, Gigabyte Radeon HD 6670. I believe it uses less power and it doesn't require a dedicated power source from the psu but I am still seeing nothing on the screen nor hear any beeps from the motherboard signalling any type of problems.
I'm gathering some old parts that I've had laying around for quite some time just collecting dust. The video card, radeon x1800xt has a red light and I'm assuming that its a power issue but the psu is brand new. Here are all the components listed below.

the LX as in the P8Z68-V LX?
As for the ram, 1.5V or 1.65V, I doubt there would be any noticeable difference. Especially at the price of $13 for 8GB.
Is there more information that can be had regarding the voltage?
The PSU was purchased from Newegg and is scheduled for delivery sometime today. Not sure if I would be able to get a refund without having to pay the 15% restocking fee but I wish I had posted first before acting. Perhaps I can ebay it and swap in the one you mentioned.
As for the mobo...
You're right about the PSU, it was included with the case that I picked up. It worked and left it as is but I am probably going to work out an upgrade to an I5-2500k. More like build a whole new system actually.
Thanks for the link but decided to work out a new build. It's about time for an...
According to the microcenter website, the Asus P8Z68-V LX does support Crossfire, but no SLI support. CrossfireX ready is also labeled on the Mobo and I do see two gpu slots. Correct me if I'm wrong as this was the mobo that I was leaning a bit towards.
You're the second person to mention...
I've ordered or got most of the parts already but wanted to hear some feedback about my selection as I still have plenty of time to return/exchange.

Windows did update the drivers automatically as soon as the computer starts up but I did a full installation of the drivers downloaded through the nvidia website.

I did a clean installation of windows 7 64-bit and now whenever I game or put any stress on my video card, I get a black screen and the system completely locks up. It frequently occurs while playing League of legends but has also happened occasionally on start-up as well as just idling.

I'm looking to build a new system and was thinking of picking up this deal from microcenter for the i5 2500k with http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0375352 for $220.
I have a very old x1600 pro, would it be able to utilize the crossfire technology with a hd 6850 on that mobo or...
