I was getting high vrm temperatures on a 7950 with a X40. The G10 fan was connected to the lead from the pump per the instructions. I then tried connecting the fan to a mobo header and bumped up the speed in the bios but at still quiet level. Vrm temperatures are now same as my crossfired 7950...
I'm not so sure the voltage is unlocked on this version of the card that Newegg is selling. I've tried Afterburner and Trixx and the voltage won't budge off of 1.09 volts max.
Here is an article that talks about PC components that would be equivalent to next gen consoles http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-future-proofing-your-pc-for-next-gen
The reason I xfired my 7950 was to achieve a performance target that would get me around 60fps at 1440p with high graphic settings on the current pc games. My single 7950 could not achieve that and it would have been a stretch on some games for a single top end card. So with the rebates and...
I had the same issue with my xfire 7950 setup. However, I ended up removing my PCI sound card because it was blocking airflow to one of the cards and enabled the onboard sound chip on the motherboard. As soon as I enabled the onboard sound all the sensors on the second 7950 were active. This...
The 2L is a nice card. I have it xfired with an older 100352SR which I can only clock to 990/1350 driving a 1440P display. The 2L runs cooler and at a lower fan speed. The 2L automatically goes to 1.25 volts which is pretty high so I haven't bothered to overvolt considering I'm limited by the...
I noticed an odd thing about a Boost Sapphire 7950 I just added as the second card in a crossfire set up with a vanilla Sapphire 7950 card. I have the clock set to 970 (limited by the vanilla card) but noticed that the Boost card will occasionally drop down to 850, even though card 1 is locked...
The caveat is overclocking varies from card to card. I already have one of these and it is not stable above 980 no matter how much voltage you give it. Saving me the cost of my Bioshock preorder and ebaying Crysis3 makes buying another for CF very tempting.
Does the game bundle provide one or two codes for the games? I would like to ebay just the Crysis3 code since I already have it.
NM, looks like you submit one code to an AMD website which then provides separate Steam and Origin codes.
I always have that issue when I buy a game (I use paypal) on GMG. I just check my account or email after a few seconds and the game will be there with the key info.
I'm running my I7 3770 on an Extreme4 with a 42 multiplier, using a 212+ cooler and haven't changed any other settings. I haven't run Prime95 but I only care if I have problems with BF3, which I haven't had. Of all my games, BF3 (64p multi) seems to be the only one that gets the fan going at...
I think I know what the answer is but is anyone running dual slot vid cards in SLI or crossfire AND using the pci slot adjacent to the upper card? Looks like this would be trouble for cooling on the upper card but looking for any actual experience.
RS,
Sorry to be so dense, but are you saying that these Sapphire cards (I jumped on the Newegg 7950 Dual X at 280 AR) automatically vary the voltage based on load?
Thinking of jumping on this and the free mobo deal for an SLI setup. Is it OK to use different models of the same manufacturerers card to SLI? Is it just a matter of using Coolbits to clock the cards to the same speed?
That depends on what you call huge. According to this http://www.firingsquad.com/har...u_shootout/default.asp you seem to get about a 30% improvement from a XP3200+ to a A64 3500+. Of course, could be different in different games.
Is this a game that a six-year-old Star Wars fan could enjoy on easy setting, with some assistance from his dad? He is an experienced gamer but loses interest if the gameplay is too difficult. For instance, AOTC on easy is a favorite of his. Thanks for any help.
Image degradation might be more obvious to those who are using a projector. The larger image size makes imperfections more obvious. Could it also be the source material? Material which contains a lot of motion may not compress as well?
Could someone provide some guidance on getting this setup to work. I have the latest BIOS on BX6. I left the slotket jumpers on default setting (should I leave the Coppermine 256K jumper installed even if this is a Coppermine 128K?). The Soft Menu setting are left in the default positions for...
