i dont think i5 is going to make a huge difference from an i7 for gaming. i dont think you need the i7, especially on a laptop, to be playing games at top notch graphics. laptops should never become a desktop replacement, imo.
the i5 is already powerful enough to support nice quality graphics...
Z68 will definitely be more in your term "future proof"
ASUS always tend to be a little more expensive than other brands.
but i like ASUS, and i dont think i'd ever move away from ASUS boards.
they are very reliable boards, you pretty much get what you pay for.
im always a little bit effy on mixing up rams of different brand...
but never mix up ram speed. always keep the same speed, or itll make things really screwy.
so yeah, stick with the 1333, it really wont make too much difference anyways.
just a general response... i've always found Dell laptops to be quite reliable. plus i hear their customer service is good as well.
but i guess HP and SONY is up there too.. i dont know about the rest.
I've also heard the same about SLI GTX460s running on par with the 580's.
But I didn't know the 768MB versions still existed, to be quite frank.
If you are going to pick the 460's make sure to pick up the 1GB versions and not the 768's.
I have GTX460's (not sli) myself and they've been doing...
Idk, I've recently purchased a MacBook myself and I've been planning to buy myself the displayport adapter to hook up to my 27" SAMSUNG... but I'm a little devastated to hear this news.
One of my coworkers just recently bought a cable from amazon that's DisplayPort Male to HDMI male... idk if...
I'd say go with the ASUS Sabertooth...
from my personal experices, I've found the ASUS tends to be more stable and reliable than other motherboards out there.
