Cloning laptop HDD to SSD....

Whats a good piece of software to clone a HDD to SSD and while keeping the SSD optimized? I don't think a bit-by-bit would work if its different sizes

Intel Diagnostic Tool looping...

If it's not overclocked, then that would be typical. I would suggest getting a better cooler, maybe the Hyper 212+ for like 20-30 bucks

Unfortunately no UPS for my home entertainment system. I tried the PS3 and Tivo directly to the TV, no dice. Now I'm thinking that somehow it fried through the HDMI's of each device, weird huh? I heard surge protector warranties are hard to get too...

Power outage damaged my equipment!

Hey guys, A squirrel got on top of a power pole and got zapped, the power turned off and came back a minute later. A couple hours after that, a crew came out and turn off the power again for 15 minutes or so. I found out later that my receiver, ps3 and tivo not doesn't output to my TV...

IP cameras for home security: HW/SW recommend

I really can't tell you because its on motion recording, but I've got two 2-TB drives in Raid1 and I can go back 3-4 months with four cameras. Really depends on your settings

I have 4 Hikvision 2MP Dome ones set up with a POE switch. Switch has NAS and the 4 cameras connected. All of that is on one UPS. The entire system drawings about 40 Watts. The cameras only records on motion detection directly to NAS so it saves space.

Yeah, Seasonic has at least 5 years warranty. You should check the power that your computer draws with a Kill-a-watt before buying a power supply.

Also one feature I liked about Z77 boards is the Lucid Virtu which switches between the integrated and discrete graphics depending on what you are running to save power (its a bit of a hassle though and it does depend on the board as well, some don't support it)

Docsis 2.0 to docsis 3.0

BTW, if you are on Time Warner and you switch from DOCSIS 2 to DOCSIS 3, Powerboost will no longer work because DOCSIS 3 doesn't support it. You'll lose the temporary speedboost but in return you have more consistent downloads/uploads/latency
